The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of People & Culture to join our ANZ business on a fixed-term basis through to September 2029.

Reporting to the Vice President ANZ and forming part of the ANZ Leadership Team, you will lead the People & Culture function across Australia and New Zealand, partnering with leaders to build organisational capability, strengthen culture, and deliver people strategies that support business performance and growth.

This role is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded People leader who enjoys influencing at a strategic level while remaining connected to the needs of leaders and employees across the organisation.

You will lead all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including organisational development, talent management, leadership capability, employee relations, culture, engagement, reward, compliance and people operations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Partner with the ANZ Leadership Team to align People & Culture priorities with business strategy and growth objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of the ANZ People & Culture strategy.
  • Coach and develop leaders to build high-performing, engaged and inclusive teams.
  • Drive talent management, succession planning and leadership development initiatives across ANZ.
  • Lead the annual performance, development and talent review processes.
  • Champion employee engagement and initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management and workplace matters.
  • Lead organisational change and transformation initiatives, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and adoption.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand employment legislation, company policies and governance requirements.
  • Partner with global and regional stakeholders to implement People & Culture programs and initiatives locally.
  • Oversee remuneration, benefits, workforce planning and organisational design activities.
  • Lead recruitment strategies for critical and leadership roles across the business.
  • Manage People & Culture operations, systems, policies and reporting.

To be successful:

  • Human Resources / People & Culture leadership experience.
  • Proven success partnering with executive and senior business leaders in a strategic HR capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation and contemporary HR practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organisational development, talent management and culture initiatives.
  • Strong coaching and leadership capability with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations and organisational change programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate business needs into people solutions.
  • Experience working within a global or matrix organisation will be highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline.
