Job Description

The Head of Parks and Recreational Facilities Development and Control Section is responsible for setting and enforcing development standards for new and upgraded parks and recreational facilities. The role covers planning review, design standard compliance, and control of facility development projects before and during execution, distinct from ongoing operations or maintenance of existing assets. It sits at the planning and quality-control layer between design concept and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve development plans, designs, and technical specifications for new and upgraded parks and recreational facilities.
• Set and enforce facility development standards, guidelines, and city-beautification criteria across projects.
• Control the development lifecycle of parks and recreational facility projects from planning through handover to operations.
• Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and internal departments on compliance with municipal development standards.
• Review technical submissions and conduct site inspections to confirm alignment with approved plans and standards.
• Support master planning for parks and recreational facility expansion or upgrade programs.
• Liaise with regulatory and municipal authorities on development approvals and standards compliance.
• Maintain documentation and control records for facility development projects across the portfolio.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience, with a track record in development review, planning control, or facility standards enforcement (not pure construction delivery or pure operations).
• Experience reviewing or approving landscape, parks, or recreational facility designs against technical standards.
• Familiarity with city-beautification programs, master planning, or urban green-space development.
• Experience coordinating with design consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Government or semi-government sector experience in the UAE or wider GCC is preferred.
