Job Description

Head of Orchestration(16916)

We are easyJet – a FTSE-250 listed, £multi-billion low-cost airline that serves tens of millions of customers every single year. If you’re reading this, you have probably already been an easyJet customer, and you’ll know that there is no more iconic (or Orange!) travel brand in Europe.

We fly more than 1,207 routes, connecting 38 countries across Europe, and employ more than 18,000 colleagues. We’re on a mission to make low-cost travel easy – and whatever your role here, you’ll connect millions of people to what they love using Europe’s best airline network, great value fares, and friendly service.

What makes us easyJet? Our Promise Behaviours – we are Safe, Bold, Welcoming and Challenging. Four Behaviours. One Spirit. One easyJet.

What we're doing

easyJet's Infrastructure & Operations team is in the middle of a real transformation. We're moving from traditional IT service delivery to a product and platform engineering model — and we need someone to hold the connective tissue together.

About the Role:

As Head of Orchestration, you'll be the person who makes sure the whole system works: that platforms and products are coherent, that governance enables rather than blocks, that financial performance is visible, and that our third-party service desk and support services are continuously modernising.

This is a true cross-functional leadership role. You won't own a single product or platform — you'll be the one who makes sure all of them add up to something greater than the sum of their parts.

You've previously/currently worked in IT departments that ran on tickets, SLAs and supplier governance. But you've helped transform them into something better: product-thinking teams, outcome-based delivery, platforms that engineering teams actually want to use.

You understand the messy middle — the politics, the legacy processes, the people who aren't sure this change is for them, and you know how to navigate it without losing momentum or trust.

That experience is exactly what we need.

Requirements of the Role

What great looks like

  • You've led IT governance or orchestration functions and have actively driven the shift from service delivery thinking to product and engineering mindsets
  • You've worked in organisations mid-transformation and know the difference between governance that protects and governance that suffocates
  • You're comfortable with agile ways of working — not as a process you follow, but as a philosophy you embody and help others embrace
  • You've managed complex supplier relationships with a focus on outcomes and experience, not just contractual compliance
  • You can translate technical trade-offs into financial and business language — and financial constraints into clear priorities for technical teams
  • You build Communities of Practice not as box-ticking exercises, but as genuine engines for capability growth
  • You're a servant leader: you remove obstacles, build capability, and let your teams do their best work
