Head of Operations
- Location Cape Town / Stellenbosch, Western Cape
- Full-time permanent position
- Hybrid (mostly remote with meeting in Century City once a week out of tax season)
Our client is a fast-growing technology business operating within the financial services industry. They have built a highly trusted digital platform used by thousands of South Africans and are now looking for an experienced Head of Operations to help scale the business through its next phase of growth.
This is a highly influential leadership role responsible for ensuring the operational engine of the business runs efficiently. Working closely with the CEO, the successful candidate will oversee operations, finance, HR, customer experience and service delivery while continuously improving processes, systems and team performance.
The ideal candidate enjoys bringing structure to growing businesses, leading people, solving operational challenges and building scalable processes that enable sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational performance of the business.
- Oversee customer support and service delivery, ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
- Develop and improve operational processes, workflows and performance metrics.
- Manage operational planning for seasonal demand and business growth.
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting and cost management alongside outsourced finance providers.
- Lead HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and culture initiatives.
- Identify operational risks and implement business continuity plans.
- Manage key supplier, vendor and stakeholder relationships.
- Partner closely with the CEO to execute strategic initiatives across the business.
- Drive continuous operational improvement across teams and systems.
Requirements
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience leading operations within a technology, SaaS or high-growth business.
- Proven experience managing customer service or service delivery teams.
- Strong financial management and commercial understanding.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Experience building scalable operational processes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Comfortable working within lean, fast-moving environments.
- Proficiency with modern collaboration and project management tools.
- CA(SA) qualification or similar financial qualification with a strong understanding of tax or financial services would be highly advantageous.
