Job Description

This opportunity is only open to applicants who are currently 'Priority Movers'. Applications from individuals not currently on the Priority Mover list will be rejected and not considered.

You will support the Chief Executive in their role as accountable officer and in managing the work with the Revenue Scotland Board and its Committees, and key strategic relationships with Scottish Ministers, the Scottish Parliament and external stakeholders.

As a member of a Senior Leadership Team of five, one of whom is the Chief Executive, you will champion diversity and inclusion and make a significant contribution to the leadership and performance of the organisation.

You will set operational delivery agenda delivering service excellence across operational teams and will be involved in many diverse and interesting tasks to support delivery teams and use your technical knowledge to make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of the corporate functions group, Setting vision and purpose, lead, manage and develop an inclusive team
  • Line Manage function heads - Finance, Business Management, People and Communications and Engagement

  • Understand and use data to prioritise work to drive overall performance
  • Ensure decisions and priorities made in real-time are based on evidence and analysis so that value and best service is maximised.
  • Provide assurance to the AO for governance matters including overseeing the delivery of the Annual Report and Accounts and perform the role of Senior Information Risk Owner

  • Responsibility for ensuring that Revenue Scotland’s corporate obligations and responsibilities are met across a wide range of areas including equalities, sustainability, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, audit, management of corporate risk, records management and Freedom of Information reporting
  • As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will, among other things, contribute to the development of the organisation, supporting the Board and the CEO in the strategic leadership of Revenue Scotland. You will champion diversity and inclusion, contribute to setting and communicating the culture within the organisation and will be asked to lead on cross cutting corporate initiatives.

This role is a permanent level transfer position
