Head ofOperational Excellenceis responsible formanaging and improving the effectiveness and consistency of GWS Tool Group's manufacturing andlogisticsprocesses,plant lay out on Cad,incorporating and adapting technology, andidentifyingand implementing synergies to ensure process standardization and efficiencies across our operations. They will support manufacturing new products as well as existing allocations between facilities and external parties. In addition, this role will create and managethe capitalinvestment strategy and execution. The position reports directly to the EVP of Operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and oversight of a Lean Manufacturing System inall productionsites,use six sigmafor improvingplant improvements.
Develop plant layoutsfor betterthruputOEE increase
Identify,define,and implement synergies in manufacturing processes, automation,technology,andlogisticsacross multiple sites.
Oversee cross-leveling and capacity balancing and address bottleneck issuesthroughout manufacturingprocesses.
Manage multi-site projects and product allocations.
Analyzes and resolves production issues andassistsmanagers in solving problems.
Developoperational plans and strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
Prepare and present reports on performancetoexecutive management.
Ensure that business is conductedin accordance withthe Sandvik Code of Conduct
Continually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues & employee safety attitudes.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; cutting tool manufacturing preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
Required Skills/Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, technologies, automation, and equipment.
Strong knowledge of process management and improvement in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to work in an ambiguous environment; to helpidentify, simplify, and create structure.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively
Multi-site project management and reporting.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations.
Strong Lean knowledge and six sigma black belt
MBAin financewould be a plus
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing or sitting with some lifting, bending, and twisting
Ability tolift upto 20 pounds.
Ability to stoop,bendor kneel whenrequired
Ability to travel up to50- 75% (after introduction period)
