About FLIP and the Role

FLIP Technologies SRL (as of now “FLIP”) is building its next wave of growth. After successfully establishing itself as the principal refurbished electronics e-commerce in CEE (commanding the segment in RO, BG, HU, GR), it is time to build a new growth engine through External Marketplaces, amongst others.

As Head of Marketplaces, you will be responsible for setting up the Business Unit and spearheading its development into a key growth pillar to support our main mission: Be the player that provides the most value to consumers across Europe. You will be reporting into the Chief Growth Officer and have full oversight and execution over the Marketplaces BU (incl. P&L ownership, co-building operational flows, integrations, commercial strategy & execution, in which marketplaces and countries to operate & in which not).

Together with the Demand & Growth team you will partner to grow and establish this business in FLIP in order to cement our position as the leading refurbished electronics marketplace in CEE.

The role will cover the following responsabilities:

• Setting the business up: currently we are only scratching the surface - we are looking for someone that combines the BUILDER and the OPERATOR
• P&L Responsibility, accountable to the CGO, to deliver GMV / Volume / Profit targets.
• Work together with cross-functional teams (OPS, Commercial, PDT/Tech, CS, FIN) to deliver a seamless experience to our customers and partners in 3P.
• Find untapped opportunities for growth in the segment (what countries, what marketplaces, what integrations), assess opportunities (incl. Having the right portfolio and price) and execute.
• Be extremely involved in day-to-day operations and focus on executing the plan on-time and in-full.
• Listen to customers & partners, sense market sentiment and gather industry insights to feedback into Business Plans.
• Analyse, track & propose corrective actions for assigned KPIs.
• Sign-on and manage partners, keep close to X-Functional teams & look for continuous improvements in Operational Flows.
• Attend and participate in Growth Key Planning cycles, Industry specific & Partner events.

Experience and Background:

• 5+ years in commercial management or analysis, e-commerce management, management consulting, or a similar role in a data-intensive environment.
• E-commerce, marketplace, or retail background is a strong advantage; understanding of refurbished or recommerce even better.
• Strong analytical toolkit: you can take a set of complex data and manage to derive clear insights from it.
• Comfortable in creating better/worse scenarios / driver-decomposition and trade-off models (for example price versus volume, mix versus margin etc.)
• Track record of presenting complex analysis to senior stakeholders: you know how to tell a story with data, not just show a table.
• Cross-functional experience across multiple departments, with the ability to navigate competing priorities.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment; you do not wait for perfect data to form a view.
• Fluency in English is required; Romanian is a strong plus.
