Lanterna helps IB schools solve one of their biggest challenges: access to qualified teachers.

We provide online substitute teachers and full year teaching solutions that help schools maintain, strengthen and expand their IB programmes.

Today, we support hundreds of schools worldwide and work with some of the most respected international schools across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia.

Over the past few years, we have built a rapidly growing schools business that has become the company’s primary growth engine.

Demand for our services continues to increase globally as schools face ongoing teacher shortages and increasing pressure to maintain programme quality. The Opportunity

We’re not looking for someone to manage marketing.

We’re looking for someone to build the marketing function that supports the next stage of Lanterna’s growth.

Reporting to our Chief Sales Officer and working closely with the CEO, COO and CFO, you will own marketing for our schools business and play a key role in how we grow over the coming years.

This role combines demand generation, sales enablement, strategic positioning, executive communications, AI enabled marketing operations and commercial planning.

You’ll help determine where we invest, how we communicate, how we generate demand and how we scale.

The commercial momentum is already there.

What we need now is someone who can build the systems, processes and capabilities required for the next stage of growth.

Building the Function

This is a hands on leadership role.

We are not looking for someone who wants to inherit a large team and spend their time in meetings.

We are looking for a builder.

Someone who enjoys creating structure, improving systems, testing ideas and turning strategy into execution.

In your first year, success will come from your ability to personally drive initiatives forward while building the foundations for a scalable marketing function.

You should expect to spend time inside HubSpot, AI tools, campaign workflows, sales materials and analytics dashboards, while also contributing to leadership discussions around growth, positioning and commercial strategy.

Over time, you will have the opportunity to shape how the function grows and where additional resources should be invested.

What You’ll Own

Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth

  • Own marketing’s contribution to pipeline generation and revenue growth

  • Develop and execute campaigns across webinars, events, partnerships, email, LinkedIn and account based marketing

  • Work closely with sales to improve lead quality, conversion rates and commercial outcomes

  • Identify new growth opportunities, channels and experiments

  • Build scalable systems for demand generation as the business grows

Sales Enablement

  • Equip commercial teams with the messaging, proof points and assets needed to win

  • Develop case studies, customer stories, ROI tools, presentations and sales collateral

  • Continuously refine positioning and value proposition

  • Partner with sales leadership on strategic opportunities and key accounts

AI, Automation & Marketing Operations

At Lanterna, we know that AI is fundamentally changing how high performing organisations operate.

We expect our marketing leader to be at the forefront of that shift.

You will:

  • Use AI tools and agents to accelerate content creation, research, campaign execution and reporting

  • Build automated workflows across HubSpot and our broader technology stack

  • Design systems that allow a small team to deliver outsized impact

  • Continuously identify work that can be automated or augmented through AI

  • Evaluate and implement new tools, workflows and technologies

We are looking for someone who actively uses AI every day and sees automation as a competitive advantage.

Brand, Thought Leadership & Market Presence

  • Strengthen Lanterna’s position as a trusted partner to IB schools worldwide

  • Support executive visibility across LinkedIn, webinars, conferences and PR

  • Lead the execution of strategic events, sponsorships and partnerships

  • Ensure consistency and quality across all external communication

Planning, Budget & Commercial Ownership

Marketing at Lanterna is a commercial function.

You will:

  • Own the marketing budget and investment strategy

  • Be accountable for marketing ROI and pipeline contribution

  • Contribute to annual planning, forecasting and business reviews

  • Partner with the Chief Sales Officer, CEO, COO and CFO on growth planning and resource allocation

  • Build reporting frameworks that clearly demonstrate marketing’s impact on business performance

  • Help identify and prioritise the highest impact growth opportunities across the business

What We’re Looking For

You will likely have:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in B2B marketing, demand generation, growth marketing or revenue marketing

  • Experience working in a startup or scale up environment

  • Experience owning significant marketing initiatives, budgets or business outcomes

  • Strong understanding of CRM systems, pipeline management and marketing analytics

  • Hands on experience with HubSpot or similar platforms

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong commercial instincts and understanding of B2B sales processes

  • Demonstrated success generating measurable business results

  • Practical experience using AI tools and agents as part of day to day marketing execution

  • The ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution

  • Strong project management and prioritisation skills

  • High ownership and accountability

Bonus Points

  • Experience selling into schools, education or international education markets

  • Experience with account based marketing

  • Experience operating internationally across multiple markets

  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers or small teams

  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership

Location

This is a hybrid role based in Stockholm.

Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package consisting of a fixed salary and performance based bonus.
