Job Description

The Role

This role leads the China marketing team and provides strategic direction and hands on execution for all PR, marketing, media, partnership and client development events.

Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

· Work closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications team for Asia based in Hong Kong in planning key seasonal campaign, branding campaign and regional touring events.

· Work closely China Chairman and art departments to design and execute client development programs and events in China.

· Collaborate with art departments, Operations and China Chairman to develop and manage gallery programs/exhibitions and drive the gallery traffic to sell the sales.

· Enhance Christie’s brand and new client development in 2nd tier cities through creative and effective marketing events/programs throught digital platform or other channels.

· Identify appropriate local partnerships to sponsor marketing programs or events to promote our brand and develop new clients.

· Work closely with the Regional and Global Marketing & Communications teams to strengthen Christie’s brand profile in China.

· Build and strengthen media relations with A-list contacts primarily in Shanghai but also extending to strategic “tier-2 cities” as identified by the China management team

· Manage key messaging and content materials for China market through all channels.

The Candidate

· Degree holder in Communications, Media, Marketing or related disciplines.

· Minimum 10 years of proven success in leading the PR, marketing, partnership and event function in China preferably within art and luxury industries.

· Strong network and relationship with art and culture media preferred

· Strong network and relationship with luxury, lifestyle brands and wealth management institutions preferred

· Strong track record of partnerships and PR results

· Strategic and yet detail oriented to prioritize and organize tto meet the business need

· A natural collaborator, able to partner effectively with multiple stakeholders.

· An Excellent written, presentation and communication skills in English, Chinese and Mandarin.
