Job Description

Alaro City is a large mixed-use new city and industrial park development in Nigeria, created through a joint venture between Rendeavour and the Lagos State Government. As a major real estate development, it brings together place-making, industrial growth, commercial activity, and long-term community development in a single ambitious project.

This role is an opportunity to shape how Alaro City is presented to the market and to the wider public. As Head of Marketing and Communications, you will lead the strategic direction of the brand, strengthen market awareness, and help connect the business with customers, media, stakeholders, and partners through clear, effective communications.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the local leadership team and the Group Head Marketing & Communications to define, execute, and evaluate the marketing and communications strategy for West African projects and other target markets.
  • Manage and grow the marketing and communications team in Nigeria and Ghana to deliver against key performance indicators.
  • Implement events, advertising, digital media, public relations, and other initiatives that support sales, generate leads, and drive customer engagement.
  • Conceive, design, source, and manage branded marketing and communication materials, creatives, and data-led assets across earned, owned, and paid media.
  • Use data to design, assess, and improve the effectiveness of marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Engage and manage marketing and communications vendors in support of the brand vision and plan.
  • Manage Alaro City social media channels and content to drive engagement.
  • Develop and run a PR programme that builds positive representation across earned media.
  • Create awareness of the business and its offerings through thought leadership programmes, including events and opinion pieces.
  • Communicate key news and milestones across media channels.
  • Assess the PR environment and brand perception, identify brand risks, and prepare and manage crisis communications where appropriate.
  • Organise product launches, ATL and BTL campaigns, and other events that attract buyers to project sites.
  • Produce and distribute regular newsletters to relevant internal and external stakeholders and sales and marketing databases.
  • Manage marketing and PR consultants where applicable.
  • Identify relevant stakeholders and build awareness of, trust in, and loyalty to the brand through active stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a stakeholder database for marketing purposes.
  • Promote company spokespersons through targeted commentary and interviews in relevant business and trade media.
  • Build relationships with key media across TV, print, and online channels, and coordinate media engagements that highlight project milestones.
  • Ensure marketing and communications activities are delivered efficiently to budget and aligned with wider business objectives, while tracking return on investment.
  • Plan and execute corporate social responsibility programmes and analyse their impact quarterly.
  • Support the development and dissemination of employee communications initiatives.
  • Own weekly marketing and communications reporting and activity impact assessment.
  • Prepare marketing presentations for senior management and potential clients as needed.
  • Partner with the local leadership team to develop employer branding campaigns that support hiring.
  • Ensure consistent use of Salesforce CRM to manage leads and track campaign effectiveness.
  • Regularly analyse competitor offerings and market trends.
  • Maintain knowledge of the property market locally and internationally to inform strategy and differentiation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with agents and brokers to support the sales process.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience across marketing and corporate communications in reputable companies.
  • Business-fluent English, with experience producing copywriter- or professional journalist-level written content.
  • Proven leadership and managerial experience.
  • Strong ability in planning, branding, design, and digital.
  • Knowledge of multi-channel marketing and communications processes and the local media landscape.
  • Very strong analytical skills, including experience using data and analytics tools to assess marketing and communications performance.
  • Experience with Salesforce or digital advertising platforms, social media management tools, analytics tools, or design tools.
  • Exposure to emerging or frontier markets.
  • Experience with campaign planning, brand management, PR strategy, crisis communications, and performance measurement and ROI tracking.
  • Experience engaging senior leadership, journalists and producers, agents and brokers, and external stakeholders.
  • MBA.
  • 10-15 years of experience in media relations, advertising, and event management is highly desirable.
  • Degree in Mass Communication is a plus.
  • International product and brand communications experience is highly desirable.
