What’s the Role
The Head of Managed Accounts is a senior leadership role within BT’s Chief Product Office. This role is accountable for defining and executing BT’s Managed Accounts and Trading & Settlement strategy across platform‑based solutions, including managed portfolios and equity investment options.
You will hold end‑to‑end accountability for the performance of BT’s Managed Accounts, Trading and Settlement propositions — spanning product strategy, governance, regulatory compliance, distribution alignment and commercial outcomes, including revenue growth, margins and pricing strategy.
Working closely with the BT Leadership Team and senior stakeholders across Distribution, Product Management, Investments, Technology, Risk and Compliance, you will ensure BT’s Managed Accounts offering remains competitive, scalable, compliant and aligned to adviser and client needs, supporting sustainable growth across BT platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Managed Accounts Strategy
Define and execute the strategic direction for BT’s Managed Accounts proposition, aligned with BT’s broader business strategy, platform roadmap and adviser value proposition.
Identify and drive evolution of managed account solutions in response to market trends, regulatory change and adviser and client demand.
Trading, Settlement & Market Operations
Accountable for end‑to‑end trading and settlement capability across Managed Accounts and the broader Panorama platform, covering listed securities and managed funds.
Provide strategic oversight of market execution, settlement, asset servicing and corporate actions.
Oversee broker, custodian and vendor relationships supporting Panorama, with a strong focus on scalability, resilience and compliance.
Product & Proposition Ownership
End‑to‑end accountability for Managed Accounts product performance, including design, pricing, lifecycle management and ongoing enhancements.
Own commercial outcomes, including contribution to platform revenues, margins and long‑term sustainability.
Ensure trading and settlement capabilities are aligned to platform design, with clear ownership of operational risk, incidents and controls.
Product Governance & Oversight
Lead product governance frameworks for Managed Accounts and Trading & Settlement.
Ensure strong investment oversight, portfolio monitoring and compliance with mandates and regulatory obligations, in partnership with internal governance, risk and compliance teams, external managers and vendors.
Distribution & Adviser Engagement
Partner closely with Distribution, Dealer Groups and Advisers to drive adoption, education and effective use of BT Managed Accounts solutions.
Act as a senior subject matter expert for Managed Accounts and Trading & Settlement in adviser and intermediary engagement.
Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
Ensure all products and operations meet regulatory, licence and trustee obligations.
Build strong, effective working relationships with Risk, Compliance, Legal and Trustee teams to maintain a robust governance and risk culture.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across BT and the Westpac Group, including Executives, Trustees, Regulators and key external partners.
Leadership
Lead, inspire and develop a high‑performing team with strong product, investment and commercial capability.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
What do I need?
Extensive experience in wealth management, investments or platform‑based products, with strong exposure to managed accounts or portfolio solutions
Proven experience defining and executing product or investment strategies in complex financial services environments
Strong understanding of investment governance, regulatory requirements and trustee obligations
Demonstrated senior stakeholder management experience, including engagement with Executives, Boards and Regulators
Outstanding people leadership capability, with a track record of building and leading high‑performing teams
Strong commercial acumen with experience driving growth, adoption and sustainable business outcomes
Experience working within large, integrated financial services organisations
Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, economics or a related discipline
RG146 preferred but not mandatory
