Head of Logistics – Malawi
Location: Blantyre, Malawi

Step into a high-impact leadership role and shape the future of logistics in Malawi. Our client, a global logistics and shipping group, is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Logistics to establish and grow their operations in the country.

Based in Blantyre, this is a unique opportunity to build a logistics business from the ground up. You'll oversee everything from market entry and team development to operational delivery and commercial performance, backed by a respected international brand.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the setup of the logistics entity in Malawi, from regulatory registration to operational launch

• Develop and execute growth strategies across freight forwarding and contract logistics

• Build efficient, compliant logistics operations spanning air, sea, and land transport

• Cultivate strong customer and vendor relationships to support long-term growth

• Ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence in all logistics functions

• Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability and service

• Deliver on financial targets, managing P&L and driving profitability

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• 8+ years’ senior logistics experience, ideally in freight forwarding and contract logistics

• A proven track record of setting up or scaling operations in emerging markets

• In-depth understanding of logistics operations in Southern Africa

• Strong leadership, commercial, and stakeholder management skills

• Hands-on approach to problem-solving and team development

• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
