Your Role:Head of Key Accounts
As the Head of Key Accounts, you will define and lead the national key account strategy across retail and veterinary channels in Australia. In this high-visibility leadership role, you will unify the approach to corporate partners while managing a high-performing team and maintaining direct responsibility for a major strategic account to drive sustainable growth.
Your Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the national Key Account strategy to drive revenue growth, margin optimization, and portfolio penetration across all segments.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Key Account Managers, establishing clear performance metrics and account planning frameworks.
Personally manage at least one large national key account, negotiating commercial agreements and strengthening C-suite relationships.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure flawless execution of promotional calendars and national product launches.
Lead contract negotiations, monitor trade spend ROI, and deliver accurate forecasting and reporting to executive leadership.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive commercial experience within animal health, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, or healthcare, including managing national or strategic accounts.
Top Skills: Proven leadership experience managing high-performing commercial teams and advanced negotiation capability with strong financial acumen.
Other: Must hold a current Australian driver’s license.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
MBA or advanced business qualification.
Experience working with veterinary corporates, buying groups, or major retail chains.
Demonstrated success in identifying white-space opportunities and long-term partnership models.
