Job Description

Head of IT

Technology sits at the heart of how we support Western Australia’s real estate profession - from reiwa.com and our property data platforms to member services, integrations, Salesforce and the digital tools our people and members rely on every day.

We’re looking for a Head of ICT to lead and transform our technology capability across software development and technology operations,

This isn't simply a role to manage an established ICT function. We want someone who will build on the progress our team is already making bring fresh thinking and challenge how we work. Someone who sees the potential of AI and automation and alternate ways of resourcing and delivery, while ensuring the technology REIWA relies on every day is secure, reliable, resilient and sustainable.

The opportunity

You'll lead a multidisciplinary IT team across software development and technology operations with the mandate to change our REIWA's technology operating model and the way we work.

A key part of your role will be working closely with our General Manager of reiwa.com to strengthen and grow one of REIWA's most important assets. As Western Australia's property listings portal, reiwa.com needs technology that is reliable, scalable and continually evolving. You'll be a critical partner in delivering new capabilities, improving platform performance and ensuring our technology investment supports its commercial growth and competitiveness.

You’ll also look across the development lifecycle – from understanding a business problem through to bringing the same thinking to Operations, strengthening how we manage and support our infrastructure, services and cyber security.

You'll:

  • Lead, coach and develop our people, building on existing strengths while encouraging fresh ideas, accountability and greater technical ownership
  • Embed pragmatic Agile and DevOps practices, strengthen automated testing, CI/CD and release practices, and find practical ways to use AI, automation and offshore resources where they improve value and delivery
  • Lead the technical delivery of major platform enhancements, implementations and integrations, working closely with business owners to deliver commercial and member value
  • Strengthen cyber security, technology risk and resilience while improving the reliability and effectiveness of our day-to-day technology services;
  • Bring strong commercial discipline to technology decisions - building business cases negotiating with vendors and making considered choices about when to buy, build or partner.
  • Translate organisational priorities into practical technology roadmaps balancing delivery capacity, investment and long-term value.

What you will bring

You’ll combine strong people leadership with genuine technology depth.

You'll have led technology teams and know how to build capability, confidence and accountability in others. You'll bring fresh thinking while recognising the value of the people, knowledge and processes already in place.

You’ll have a strong software engineering background – ideally with strong .NET experience and Microsoft Azure knowledge – and the technical credibility to challenge architecture and engineering decisions without needing to make every decision yourself.

You'll have a track record of improving how technology teams work and delivery with experience across IT operations, cyber security and major technology change. Just as importantly you’ll bring commercial judgement, the confidence to negotiate and challenge vendors and the ability to work closely business leaders to turn opportunities into practical technology solutions.

Experience with high-traffic digital platforms, APIs, integrations, Salesforce or legacy modernisation would be highly regarded.
