What are we looking for?

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Head of HR to lead the Human Resources function for Prudential Myanmar (PMLI) This role will serve as the in‑market HR lead, driving people strategy, building organizational capability, and ensuring strong alignment between local needs and CLM Hub priorities. The Head of HR will report to the CHRO, CLM Hub and oversee a team of six HR professionals based in Myanmar.

What are we expecting from this role?

The Head of HR will be expected to:

  • Translate CLM HR strategies, frameworks, and policies into practical, executable plans for PMLI.

  • Drive coordinated implementation of HR initiatives across Talent Acquisition, Rewards & Performance, Talent Management, and HR Operations.

  • Ensure initiatives are delivered in line with agreed scope, timelines, and governance standards.

  • Partner closely with the HRBP to ensure people initiatives are executed in alignment with business priorities.

  • Act as the single coordination point between PMLI and CLM HR COEs.

  • Facilitate clear understanding of COE intent, standards, and expectations within local teams.

  • Provide structured feedback to COEs on local execution challenges, regulatory considerations, and adoption risks.

  • Ensure consistent and compliant HR operations across the employee lifecycle including performance management, succession planning, and capability‑building frameworks across the organization.

  • Monitor adherence to local labor laws, internal policies, and Prudential governance requirements.

  • Drive employee engagement, communication initiatives, and culture‑building programs tailored to the Myanmar market.

  • Oversee core HR functions including Talent Acquisition, Rewards, HR Operations, Learning & Development, and Employee Relations.

  • Manage HR budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships efficiently.

  • Identify operational risks and ensure timely resolution or escalation where required.

  • Enable local HR teams with clear guidance, tools, and ways of working aligned to CLM standards.

  • Reinforce service excellence, consistency, and professionalism in HR delivery.

  • Support capability uplift related to execution, systems, and processes (excluding HRBP capability).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience with strong exposure to HR execution, operations, and multi-discipline HR delivery preferably in a multinational or regulated industry.

  • Proven experience coordinating or implementing HR initiatives across Talent Acquisition, Rewards & Performance, Talent Management, Learning & Development, HR Operations, and Employee Relations.

  • Demonstrated experience working closely with HRBPs and HR COEs, translating strategy into on-the-ground execution.

  • Solid understanding of local labor laws and HR compliance in Myanmar; experience in regulated or multinational environments is an advantage.

  • Experience managing HR operations teams, vendors, and HR budgets.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.

  • Master’s degree or HR professional certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) preferred.
