Our people are at the center of everything we do, and we are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Human Resources, Americas to lead our regional HR strategy and operations.

This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to influence employee experience across the U.S. and beyond while partnering with senior business leaders and the global HR organization to drive organizational effectiveness, talent development, and operational excellence.

As the Head of Human Resources, U.S., you will lead a team of HR professionals and centers of expertise, ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services, compliance with employment laws, and the continued advancement of talent and organizational initiatives throughout the region.

The following challenge awaits:

Provide Strategic HR Leadership Across the Americas

  • Lead and oversee all regional HR functions, including:
  • Partner with senior leadership teams across the region to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the global HR organization to drive standardization, process improvement, and the adoption of best practices.

Lead HR Shared Services and Centers of Excellence

  • Guide the regional HR Shared Services function (HRDirect), ensuring efficient service delivery, governance, compliance, and achievement of service level expectations.
  • Guide Compensation, Benefits, and Mobility Centers of Excellence across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
  • Adapt global policies and programs for regional implementation while ensuring alignment with local business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including performance evaluation, contract oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Drive Employee Relations, Compliance, and Inclusion

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, workforce planning, and employment decisions.
  • Support regional diversity and inclusion initiatives that foster an engaging and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies that reflect evolving legislative and business requirements.

Champion Talent and Organizational Development

  • Lead talent management efforts within Corporate Functions and the Regional HR organization.
  • Partner with HBS leaders to identify, assess, develop, and retain high-potential talent.
  • Support executive recruitment, employment agreements, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives within the region.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through talent strategies that support business growth.

Serve as a Trusted Business Advisor

  • Act as a key HR partner to Regional Center Corporate Functions supporting approximately 50 employees.
  • Provide expert guidance during organizational transformations, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, integrations, and divestitures.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Tax, Legal, EHS, Compliance and other corporate functions on strategic regional initiatives.

Lead and Develop a High-Performing HR Team

  • Provide functional leadership, coaching, and development for a team of HR Business Partners and HR professionals throughout the region.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead workforce planning, succession, performance management, and talent development within the HR function.

Steward Regional HR Operations

  • Manage regional HR budgets, forecasting, cost allocation, and resource planning.
  • Ensure operational excellence, strong governance, and adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Promote and uphold the Heraeus Code of Conduct and ensure awareness and compliance across the employee population.

Your Profile:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including responsibility for multiple HR disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of people management experience leading HR teams both operational and business partner teams.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, talent management, compensation and benefits, HR operations, and U.S. employment law.
  • Experience working within complex, matrixed, and geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational change.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors, ADP and other HR platforms.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting global organizations and collaborating across international teams.
  • Experience leading HR initiatives in manufacturing, technology, industrial, or highly regulated environments.
  • Champion of HR AI initiatives and efficiencies.
