Job Description
At Clarks, we have an exciting opportunity for a hands- on and yet strategic HR leader. As the Head of HR, this person is a key member of the senior leadership team and works as a strategic partner with the GM, China and other senior stakeholders in the region on all people/HR related matters. Also, as a member of the Global People Leadership Team, this person will manage the people topics of the business strategy and define, develop and deliver an HR strategy that is in line with the Group HR strategy.
Other Accountabilities
• Provide market insights to CPO and Group specialist HR functions so that group People & HR strategies, policies and frameworks meet the requirements in each country.
• Where needed, tailor group frameworks and policies for the markets/channels to enable recruitment, development, reward and retention of market/channel roles.
• Build strong HR professional teams. Lead, manage & develop a high-performing HR team, setting objectives and coaching the team in accordance with Clarks performance management and training processes
• Ensure all legal HR obligations are met in markets/channels. Proactive approach to forthcoming legislation, review and develop policies/processes, enhance practices and developments in HR, ensuring best practice and that legal and statutory requirements are complied with
• Accountable for implementing all talent strategy, talent & workforce planning, recruitment, compensation frameworks and engagement programmes in markets/channels
• Drive and ensure the effectiveness of the Performance Management framework across the markets/channels, monitoring the quality of the execution and evaluating outcomes
• Manage the HR budget and all approaches across the market/channels with a people financial implications (i.e. pay review), ensuring decisions & processes deliver the best return on investments
• Responsible for office management and Health & Safety compliance
Essential Knowledge:
• Relevant senior HR experience at a regional level
• Current and forthcoming legislation impacting employees and employment
• HR processes, i.e. workforcer planning, performance management, succession planning, creating policies, procedures and guidelines
• Job design and organisational structures
• Principles and models of change management
• Knowledge of payroll procedures and deadlines
• Good knowledge of talent market trends
• Fluent English and Mandarin Language skills
• Function-related qualification, i.e., a degree in Human Resources, preferred
• Understands business processes
Technical Skills:
• Project management
• Team management and leadership skills
• Able to communicate confidently with people at all levels, flexible, and able to adapt and respond quickly to various tasks and situations
Successful Experience:
• Operating at a strategic HR and senior level in a global organisation with a matrix set up.
• Creation and delivery of a market strategic HR plan
• Coaching at the senior management level
• Line management experience of an HR team of generalist and specialist capabilities
• Stakeholder management
• Very good understanding of employment legislation and/or contractual obligations (both implied and expressed)
• Management of people-related impacts during organisational change
• Sound experience of organising workloads, prioritising and multi-tasking
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Tact, diplomacy, sensitivity and high levels of integrity are required in dealing with sensitive issues
