About The Team – Health Safety and Wellbeing!

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing team is part of Murdoch University's Chief People Office and is dedicated to promoting a positive culture of safety, wellbeing and support across the University. Working closely with leaders and staff, the team delivers practical solutions and expert advice that help create a safe, healthy and inclusive environment where people can thrive.

Your New Role – Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing!

As the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you will lead Murdoch University's health, safety and wellbeing strategy, driving a proactive and people-centred culture across the University. Working closely with senior leaders, you will influence organisational outcomes, strengthen governance and compliance, and deliver initiatives that support the safety, wellbeing and success of our community.

Your Key responsibilities will include –

  • Lead the strategic direction of health, safety and wellbeing across the University.
  • Influence executive decision-making through expert risk and governance advice.
  • Champion a culture of safety, wellbeing and accountability at every level.
  • Develop high-performing teams and deliver meaningful organisational change.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Senior leadership experience in health, safety and wellbeing, backed by relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Deep knowledge of contemporary WHS legislation, governance, risk and injury management practices.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to advise and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving cultural change, continuous improvement and organisational performance.
