Jewish Care Victoria is seeking an inspiring and skilled, Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, to take ownership of the organisation’s WHS strategy, framework and systems, ensuring a best practice approach to safety across all operations.

You will operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, partnering closely with leaders across the business to embed a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Lead

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and execution of a contemporary, organisation-wide WHS framework
  • Providing advice and coaching to Executive and leaders
  • Developing, implementing and continuously improving WHS systems, policies and procedures
  • Conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance across multiple sites
  • Leading incident investigations and driving effective corrective actions
  • Proactively identifying key risks and implementing robust mitigation strategies
  • Supporting WHS governance, including committees and reporting
  • Designing and delivering WHS training and capability-building programs

About You

This is a senior, high-impact role requiring both strategic insight and operational excellence. You will thrive in multi-site environments and effectively engage and influence stakeholders at every level.


You will bring:

  • Extensive experience in a senior WHS leadership role, ideally operating in a stand-alone capacity
  • Demonstrated capability in designing, implementing and embedding WHS systems and driving cultural change
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels of the organisation
  • A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and deliver outcomes

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
