Job Description

Purpose of position

This role sets the vision and direction for Awin’s finance systems, ensuring they enable efficient, compliant and scalable financial operations. You will partner with Finance and Technology leadership to define the roadmap, lead delivery and oversee system health. A key focus is steering a groupwide initiative to modernise internal and external payment processes.

Reports to: Group Director Enterprise Systems & BI

Key Tasks

Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the multiyear Group Finance Systems strategy and translate Finance leadership priorities into a clear, sequenced roadmap.
  • Balance major programmes (e.g. Billing Experience 2.0), continuous improvement and stability.
  • Align GFS deliverables with Product & Technology ways of working for effective, cross functional delivery.
  • Define and track KPIs/OKRs on delivery, adoption, system performance and business value.
  • Make transparent tradeoff decisions on scope, timelines and investment.

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership

  • Act as senior point of contact to the CFO, Financial Controlling and Finance Operations on all finance systems topics.
  • Own the governance model for change: intake, prioritisation, approvals and communications.
  • Represent GFS at crossfunctional steering committees and programme boards.

  • Lead change management so Finance teams are prepared, trained and supported.

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Build and lead a high performing GFS organisation with clear accountability across strategy, technical delivery and operational support.
  • Own hiring, onboarding, performance and career development.

Budget, Vendor & Commercial Management

  • Own the GFS budget across software, partners, consultants and tooling—ensuring spend delivers measurable value.
  • Manage key vendor relationships (e.g. Microsoft and system integrators), holding partners accountable for quality and commercial performance.

Business Continuity & Risk

  • Be accountable for reliability and continuity of finance systems with robust incident governance.
  • Own the risk register and partner with InfoSec, IT and Finance on mitigations.
  • Act as the escalation point for critical incidents, coordinating leadership response.
  • Oversee compliance and audit readiness, demonstrating control and accountability.

Skills & Expertise

  • Extensive leadership experience across finance systems, ERP or enterprise technology in complex, international or multi‑entity environments, with strong familiarity in multi‑country invoicing, billing and statutory requirements.
  • Proven ability to own and deliver a finance systems or ERP roadmap, demonstrating robust governance, stakeholder alignment and programme oversight, while ensuring clear prioritisation and transparent trade‑off decisions.
  • Solid integration background, having overseen end‑to‑end connections between ERP platforms and adjacent systems (CRM, data, product), with solid understanding of data flows, dependencies and cross‑functional delivery models.
  • Experienced people leader capable of building high‑performing and resilient teams, empowering technical leads and creating a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Commercially confident, with substantial experience in vendor management, contract negotiations and driving demonstrable value from partners and service providers.
  • Highly credible at the intersection of Finance and Technology, able to engage confidently with CFO‑level stakeholders while guiding technical delivery teams and ensuring system reliability, risk management and audit readiness.
  • Solid functional familiarity with ERP platforms (ideally D365 F&O or equivalent), paired with enough understanding of integration and cloud concepts (APIs, Azure, middleware) to engage in architecture discussions, and confidence using programme and backlog tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in written and spoken English.
