Reporting to the Head of Corporate, the Head of Governance and Business Management is an exciting and wide-ranging role with responsibility for leading a team of eight staff focused on promoting effective decision-making throughout the organisation and operating robust corporate governance arrangements in Revenue Scotland.
You will support the Chief Executive in her role as Accountable Officer, helping to manage the work, decision-making and relationships of the Revenue Scotland Board and its Committees, the Senior Leadership Team, and key strategic stakeholders, including Scottish Ministers, the Scottish Parliament and external partners.
As a member of Revenue Scotland’s leadership team, you will work across professional boundaries, upholding the Revenue Scotland culture founded on collaboration and collective leadership. You will also champion diversity and inclusion and contribute to the leadership and performance of the organisation.
Responsibilities
As the key point of contact between the Revenue Scotland Board and the Executive team, support the Board, its Committees and CEO in the strategic leadership of Revenue Scotland, championing diversity and inclusion, performing the role of Standards Officer and ensuring effective governance processes and compliance across the organisation.
Manage decision making across the organisation ensuring that operational and strategic decisions are made by the right people and groups at the right time.
Supporting the work to provide assurance to the Accountable Officer for governance matters, including the Framework Document and Scheme of Internal Delegation and reporting on the organisation’s assurance arrangements in the Annual Report and Accounts and management of core governance documents and processes.
Responsibility for the management and governance of corporate policies, the organisation’s Health and Safety and Wellbeing arrangements.
Co-ordinate and manage the organisation’s corporate risk management and assurance frameworks and corporate business continuity arrangements, including the RS business continuity and incident management plans.
Responsibility for the organisation’s procurement function, including performing the role of Delegated Procurement Officer.
Working Pattern
This role is a permanent level transfer position. Our standard hours are 35 hours per week, we offer a range of flexible and hybrid working options. Our hybrid working principles require you to attend your assigned office, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh at least 2/3 days each month. Our hybrid approach supports a blend of home and workplace working, this should be agreed with the line manager to achieve the right balance between collaboration, in-person engagement and flexibility. You can also work from our Glasgow hub office if required
