HSBC Global Trade Solutions (GTS) is a core service provider to Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB). The Head of GTS Sales, Bermuda, is responsible for proactively leading GTS activities in Bermuda for international corporate and institutional clients to position HSBC as a top provider of innovative trade solutions.

The role holder is accountable for implementing the global, regional and country-level strategic direction for GTS across the diversified client base in Bermuda, with a view to achieving sustainable growth and profitability. Coordinates closely with GTS Europe Regional Client Management and Implementation, Solution Structuring and Client Services, along with CIB Coverage, Primary Trading System (PTS), Markets and Securities Services (MSS) and relevant Global Functions, including Legal, Global Risk & Compliance, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Human Resources (HR), Sustainability and Digital Business Services.

As our Head of GTS Sales Bermuda, you will:

  • Deliver revenue growth as per the Financial Resource Plan (FRP), and in line with GTS Europe targets, whilst ensuring robust profitability and returns
  • Maintain a high degree of sales intensity across the frontline team
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creative thinking when developing client solutions and solving for internal/external challenges
  • Ensure high-quality customer experience
  • Exhibit strong understanding of new revenue sources and contribute to the development of new GTS propositions
  • Ensure connectivity to the wider trade finance industry and adapt to regulatory and market infrastructure changes
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and that reputational risk impact is mitigated for GTS. Cultivate a consistent and appropriate selling culture
  • Act as a role model for GTS and the wider Europe team; ensure the team actively pursues training and development opportunities; talent identification and succession planning
  • Actively contribute to the GTS Europe Executive Committee

You’ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve revenue growth and sales targets through a client and solution-centric approach
  • Detailed knowledge of the trade finance business
  • Broad corporate/commercial banking and relationship management experience
  • Product management, business planning and financial management experience
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills, with experience in team building and managing a wide range of projects
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills set. Ability to work in a collaborative environment while making material progress with many stakeholders in a complex, matrixed, organizational structure
  • Ability to use strong judgement to identify and resolve problems
  • Knowledge of end-to-end bank operations and information technology systems
  • Awareness of global economic and political factors and their impact on GTS. Ability to anticipate trends and respond proactively where possible
