The Opportunity

MCB Capital Markets is seeking an accomplished investment professional to lead its Fixed Income business at an exciting stage of growth and development. This is a unique opportunity to shape a core investment capability, influence investment outcomes across multiple markets and contribute to the continued expansion of one of the region's leading investment management businesses.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership across investment management, market positioning and product innovation. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will drive portfolio performance, foster strong client relationships and help advance MCB Capital Markets' reputation as a trusted investment partner.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the Fixed Income investment strategy across local, regional and international markets.

• Oversee the management, development and growth of Fixed Income investment products, including mutual funds, ETFs and institutional mandates.

• Drive superior risk-adjusted investment performance across fixed income portfolios.

• Lead the firm's African fixed income investment capability, identifying opportunities and strengthening MCB Capital Markets' position as a leading investment manager in African debt markets.

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with institutional investors and key market participants.

• Strengthen credit research and risk management frameworks.

• Identify and assess investment opportunities across African and international fixed income markets.

• Represent MCB Capital Markets as a recognised thought leader across Mauritius, Africa and international markets.

• Lead and develop a high-performing investment team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, investment guidelines and regulatory standards.

Key Experience and Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, applied mathematics or relevant quantitative field;

• Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. CFA) would be an advantage.

Experience

• At least 10 years' experience in investment management, asset management, fund management or investment advisory services, including significant experience managing fixed income portfolios;

• Experience investing in emerging and frontier markets, particularly across Africa, would be an advantage.
