Job Purpose


● Ensure the organization's financial integrity and sustainability.


● Safeguard company assets and prevent financial leakages through strong internal controls.


● Maintain stable treasury operations and effective investment portfolio management.


● Ensure full compliance with tax, pension, and regulatory obligations.


● Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.


● Optimize cash flow through effective management of receivables and payables.


● Provide strategic financial advisory support to executive management.

Key responsibilities areas


Safeguard the company’s financial integrity and prevent financial leakages by:


● Establishing and enforcing a robust internal control framework across treasury, receivables, payables, payroll, and reporting processes.


● Supervising periodic reconciliations and reviewing exception reports to ensure accounts remain balanced at all times.


● Directing internal audit reviews and ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.


● Approving financial transactions within delegated authority limits and enforcing segregation of duties across the team.


Ensure disciplined budgetary control and financial performance management by:


● Overseeing receivables collection to ensure payments are received within agreed timelines.


● Managing payables scheduling to ensure vendors, partners, and statutory bodies are paid on time.


● Aligning inflows and outflows to prevent cash shortfalls.


● Raising payment instructions promptly to meet financial obligations.


Ensure delivery of accurate, timely, and decision-ready financial reporting and documentation by:


● Directing the preparation of monthly management accounts and business performance reports.


● Reviewing financial statements, interpreting financial data, and presenting insights to


support strategic decision-making.


● Enforcing real-time posting discipline within accounting systems.


● Establishing structured filing and documentation standards for financial and administrative records.


● Supervising proper retention of agreements, investment documents, invoices, receipts, and statutory records.


● Ensuring the organization remains audit-ready at all times.


Safeguard and monitor company assets by:


● Maintaining oversight of the company’s asset register and periodic verification exercises.


● Reviewing asset utilization reports and investigating discrepancies.


● Ensuring adequate controls exist to prevent asset misappropriation.


Build a high performing team by:


● Supervising and setting performance standards for the Accounts and Admin team.


● Allocating responsibilities and ensuring accountability for deliverables.


● Reviewing work outputs to maintain accuracy and compliance standards.


● Providing coaching and strengthening financial discipline across the department.


Provide strategic financial leadership to executive management by:


● Advising on funding strategies, capital structure, and investment decisions.


● Analyzing business trends, profitability drivers, and risk exposures.


● Supporting corporate planning with financial modelling and performance projections.


● Representing the finance function in executive discussions and decision forums.


Drive the sustainability and growth of the company’s revenue and capital base by:


● Directing and supervising the monitoring of all client repayments and investment inflows.


● Ensuring reconciliations of repayment plans using Loan Disk and accounting systems are completed accurately and in a timely manner.


● Reviewing exposure risks and intervening where potential ROI or maturity defaults are


identified.


● Holding the team accountable for timely investor notifications and settlement of obligations


Ensure effective treasury and investment portfolio management by:


● Overseeing corporate and individual investment portfolios and monitoring maturity cycles.


● Approving rollover, settlement, or liquidation decisions in line with treasury strategy.


● Ensuring promissory notes and investment obligations are properly documented and


tracked.


● Preserving investor confidence through disciplined treasury oversight.


Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance by:


● Establishing a compliance calendar covering all tax, pension, and regulatory obligations.


● Supervising the preparation and timely filing of WHT, PAYE, CIT, Directors’ Assessments,


and other statutory returns.


● Reviewing and approving statutory remittances prior to submission.


● Representing the organization during regulatory inspections and external audits.

MINIMUM REQUIRED JOB SPECIFICATION


Academic and Professional


● HND/Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or any related discipline


● ICAN/ACCA certification.


Experience


Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience with 2 years in a leadership role.
