Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to appoint a dynamic and commercially astute Head of Finance Business Partnering for our client based in Midrand.​
The Head of Finance Business Partnering (reporting to the Finance Director: Africa) plays a pivotal role in driving financial performance, strategic alignment, and profitability across the Value-Add businesses in South Africa, including the Customer and Convenience business units.

  • Partner with leadership teams to drive strategic decision-making and financial performance.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.

  • Provide deep insights into product costing, product margins, cost drivers, and profitability.

  • Support business growth initiatives, including new markets, products, and investments.

  • Drive cost optimisation and operational efficiency across the value chain.

  • Embed finance into cross-functional teams to support data-driven decisions.

  • Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and compliance.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing finance team.


Requirements


  • CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (essential)

  • 8–10 years’ experience in Finance.

  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business partnering, Costing and margin analysis, Internal Controls.

  • Industry experience in Agriculture / Farming (preferred), FMCG / Manufacturing / Food processing.

  • Financial modelling and scenario analysis.

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.

  • ERP systems, BI tools, and advanced Excel.

  • Strong understanding of financial governance and internal controls.

  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven leadership and people management capability.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure.
