The Head of Finance, APAC will be reporting to the Regional Director of Finance, International Markets for the Compass at Google business. The role will be responsible for infl uencing decision making, optimising fi nancial performance and supporting the achievement of business objectives across the APAC region. The role will have the experience and confi dence to critically appraise information and ask challenging questions whilst looking at the bigger picture and working with both fi nancial and non-fi nancial stakeholders to drive performance. Responsible for building the Food at Google brand and user trust through :
Seamless delivery of the non-negotiables
Financial Controlling responsibilities
Oversight of Management Accounting practices
Responsible for complete MMR (client) Reporting
Delivery of Committed Spend Forecast
Delivery of Actuals reporting
Operational Excellence Metric (OEM) Reporting
Management of invoicing & PO Management processes
Responsible for fi nancial contract compliance, management against contractual KPIs & ownership of client audits.
Business Partnering
Right hand to Directors of Operations (DOOs)
Responsible for driving fi nancial performance through collaboration withDOOs
Target setting & communication of results to DOOs
Analysing and understanding performance trends
Development of tools to support operational performance
Maintain connections with local Compass Finance leads
Responsible for strengthening relationships with local Compass entities
Business partner to Workplace Program Managers (WPMs)
Finance lead for client-facing interactions (Local QBDs, Monthly Finance Meeting, etc.)
Horizon Scanning & Commercial Planning
Financial planning
Responsible for delivery of Budget and Forecasts
Anticipating and communicating risks to Google and Compass budgets
Maintenance of an opportunity log for cost reduction
Commercial thinking - growing the commercial acumen of Compass at Google teams to unlock value for the client
Develop and deliver training for Operations teams to drive commercial acumen
Develop & implement Purchase Income targets for Large Sites
Storytelling
Driving reporting development to enhance internal and client-facing storytelling
Support Monthly Finance Review meetings with the client and quarterly QBD preparation
Development of KPIs to support business management and storytelling
Develop a communication framework for fi nancial commentary & fi nancial components of local QBDs
Team development
Line Management of Finance Managers / Finance Assistants for APAC countries
Responsible for individual and team development
Establish development plans for all team members and engage in regular performance conversations to focus on growing the skills base of the Finance Team
Key skills & qualifi cations
Degree educated and qualifi ed in CIMA, ACCA or ACA
At least 5+ years' experience in fi nancial control & business partnering
Strong analytical skills and profi ciency in fi nancial modeling and data analysis
Advanced user of Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel
Experience in setting new standards for reporting & fi nancial planning
Experience of working with non-fi nancial teams to communicate and infl uence performance
Able to demonstrate gravitas as a functional expert and be able to explain complex ideas to Finance and Non-Finance colleagues
Results focused – responsive and delivers work on time
A can do attitude, excited about being a part of an evolving team
Previous experience in the consumer / hospitality sector is preferr
Key Functional Skills/Knowledge
Proven experience in working with a team of data professionals and operational teams across the
APAC region
Outstanding analytical skills, with preference for a statistics or strategy background
Strong communication, collaborative and people skills – capable of engaging and infl uencing stakeholders at all levels, across cultures and languages
Fluent in written and spoken English
