LEAD THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL STRATEGY FOR WORLD-CLASS WILDLIFE EDUCATION

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

As our Head of Finance, you will hold comprehensive, business-wide accountability for the global finance function of our multi-currency organisation. By driving strategic financial planning, multi-jurisdictional tax minimisation, and airtight working capital controls, you will safeguard and optimise our global financial operations. Your leadership ensures our group remains highly compliant, efficient, and fully resourced to deliver life-changing transformation to students, developing the next generation of expert field guides and conservationists.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Business Planning & Budgeting: Lead the end-to-end annual business planning and budgeting process, including managing mid-year forecasting and structural budget revisions for a multi-currency business operation.

  • Cash Flow Optimisation: Forecast, optimise, and control global group working capital requirements and complex multi-currency cash flows.

  • Statutory Reporting: Independently translate raw Trial Balance data into completed, statutory-ready financial documentation optimised for Board review and legal submission.

  • International Tax Strategy: Architect and manage international tax compliance and tax minimisation strategies across multiple global geographies simultaneously.

  • Tax Returns Execution: Oversee the accurate production and timely filing of corporate tax returns to meet the rigid criteria of tax authorities in multiple international jurisdictions.

  • Team Management & Scaling: Directly manage, mentor, and scale a high-output, remote financial team to ensure cross-departmental operational excellence.

  • Unit Economics Analysis: Track, analyse, and optimise operational unit economics, including calculating overhead and field costs per participant or per customer week.

  • Corporate Financial Relationships: Establish and manage strategic, cost-effective corporate relationships with international banks, insurers, and financial risk service providers.

  • Multi-Jurisdictional Payroll: Govern multi-jurisdictional payroll operations to guarantee exact local tax deductions, proper filings, and total compliance with international statutory authorities.

  • Policy Framework Architecture: Write, develop, and execute comprehensive financial policy frameworks and standard operating procedure (SOP) manuals for the international group of companies.

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant designation.

  • Experience in a Head of Finance or Finance Director role, holding overall accountability for a finance function in a medium-sized (50+ employees) or larger business.

  • 7+ years of experience directly managing and mentoring a remote finance team.

  • Demonstrated experience leading the end-to-end annual business planning and budgeting process—including managing mid-year forecasting and structural budget revisions—for a multi-currency business.

  • Extensive experience forecasting, optimising, and controlling group working capital requirements and complex multi-currency cash flows.

  • 7+ years of experience in using raw Trial Balance data to produce completed statutory returns ready for Board review and submission.

  • Successful history of managing international tax compliance and tax minimisation strategies across multiple global geographies simultaneously.

  • Extensive experience producing tax returns to meet the precise needs of tax authorities in multiple jurisdictions.

Bonus if you also have:

  • Experience tracking, analysing, and optimising operational unit economics, such as overhead and field costs calculated per participant or per customer week.

  • Experience in independently establishing and managing strategic relationships with corporate banks, insurers, and financial risk service providers across multiple international jurisdictions at the minimal possible cost.

  • Experience overseeing multi-jurisdictional payroll operations, ensuring accurate local tax deductions, filings, and compliance with statutory authorities.

  • Proven capability in writing, developing, and implementing comprehensive financial policy and standard operating procedure (SOP) manuals for an international group of companies.

  • Professional experience working with entities spanning the international travel and/or education sectors.
