With multiple consumer brands, centralized operations, and a scalable business model, the company is focused on building an integrated, tech-enabled ecosystem shaping the future of the Bangladeshi consumer market.

 About the role

We are hiring a highly driven and hands-on Head of Finance to help build and strengthen the company's financial and operational foundation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and can balance strategic finance, operational execution, and process optimization. Working closely with the leadership team, the selected candidate will oversee financial management, reporting, cash flow planning, compliance, and operational efficiency while contributing to the company's long-term growth and scalability.

 Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee the financial reporting process for the company and affiliated entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, financial controls, and operational procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, payroll coordination, and expense management.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.

Cash Flow, Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  • Own cash flow forecasting, runway management, and burn-rate analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the organization.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support business planning, growth initiatives, and fundraising activities.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Track and analyze key business and operational KPIs.

Tax, Compliance & Audit:

  • Manage tax compliance and ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns and regulatory submissions.
  • Oversee external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and other external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, regulations, and governance requirements.
  • Establish scalable internal controls and approval workflows to mitigate operational and financial risk.

Operations & Process Improvement:

  • Build and optimize operational processes across finance, procurement, vendor management, payroll, and administrative functions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, product, and leadership teams to support business initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, systems implementation, and process improvements to support scaling.
  • Evaluate and implement accounting, ERP, and reporting tools to improve visibility and efficiency.

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with founders and senior leadership to support strategic planning and company growth.
  • Prepare investor updates, board reporting materials, and fundraising support documentation.
  • Support due diligence processes related to fundraising, partnerships, or strategic initiatives.
  • Help build and lead the finance and operations function as the company grows, including hiring and mentoring future team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.

 Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, operations, or related roles, preferably within startups, high-growth companies, or fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals.
  • Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and cash flow planning.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting operations, tax compliance, and audit processes.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience working with accounting and finance systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to build processes and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing startup environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting, or board reporting is highly preferred.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth company is highly desirable.
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

 Employment Structure

  • On-site in Banani (Travel to hubs is required), Dhaka, Bangladesh | Full-time
  • Salary: BDT 300,000 - 400,000
  • Benefits: Festival Bonus (x2) + Performance-based Annual Bonus + Mobile Allowance + Transport/Fuel Allowance + Standard Probation Period Applies
  • Work Week: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (with operational flexibility during peak periods and new hub launches)
