Job Description

We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing, values‑led charity for an experienced Head of Finance This is a senior role with responsibility for leading the financial function, ensuring strong governance & Compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making at board level.

You’ll work closely with the CEO, COO and trustees, providing clear financial insight while ensuring the organisation remains compliant within a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the overall financial management of the organisation
  • Prepare and present clear financial reports to the Board of Trustees
  • Manage annual budgets and maintain a rolling 5‑year financial plan
  • Oversee year‑end accounts and manage external audits
  • Act as Company Secretary, ensuring regulatory and governance compliance
  • Lead and support the Finance and Governance Manager
  • Support funding activity such as, attending funder meetings, contributing to funding bids and producing financial reports for funders
  • Actively support the work of the senior leadership team, including advising on strategy through financial lens

Who we are looking for:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Previous experience in a senior finance role within a regulated environment
  • Strong technical knowledge across budgeting, forecasting and reporting
  • Confident presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and boards
  • Experience managing audits and complex financial compliance requirements
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to add value beyond the numbers
  • Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with senior leaders
  • Aligned with a purpose‑led organisation and its values

What’s on offer:

  • Salary of £50,000 – £55,000, depending on experience
