THE ROLE

We are a fast growing fashion brand operating in the retail, ecommerce, and wholesale channels. Our mission is to redefine the footwear and apparel industry by combining innovative designs, sustainable practices, and exceptional customer experiences. With a focus on innovation and growth, we strive to set new trends and elevate our brand to new heights. Join us as the Head Fashion of Design and drive our global design strategy for all footwear categories, leading our creative teams to achieve outstanding results.

As the Head of Fashion Design, you will be responsible for creating and driving the global design strategy for all our categories, including our prestigious footwear line and our new Ready to Wear collection Your mission will be to ensure that our products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. By understanding and defining the DNA of our brand, you will formulate new and innovative ways to propel our global business to the next stage of growth.

YOUR CHALLENGE

- Global Design Strategy:Drive the global design strategy for all categories, to achieve exceptional results and drive growth.

- Trend Analysis and Positioning: Analyze and identify future trends, new-generation competitors, and consumer activity for mid to long-term positioning, ensuring our brand stays ahead of the market.

- Innovation and Creativity: Promote innovation and foster a culture of creativity across the Design and Product Creation organization, encouraging new ideas and pushing boundaries.

- Creative Leadership: Lead a team of creative designers, inspiring and guiding them to deliver their best work and achieve the brand's creative vision.

- Collaboration and Influence: Collaborate and influence the teams to develop successful new footwear products and ensure alignment with the brand's vision.

- Commercial Viability: Ensure the commercial viability of concepts and products by combining creativity with market insights and consumer preferences.

- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate the company's creative vision to the design teams and stakeholders, fostering understanding and alignment.

- Team Performance and Development: Maximize the team's performance through performance reviews, individual development plans, coaching, and skill acquisition.

- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with the Head of Product Management, Product Development, Production and Quality to ensure that business needs are met through creative and achievable designs.

- Luxury Expertise: Bring your luxury design background design expertise to elevate our brand and set new industry standards.

YOU WILL ROCK AT THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

- 7+ years of experience driving the design vision, cross-functional execution, and growth of a global fashion business.

- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat).

- Proficiency in G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides).

- Luxury or high-end products design background

- Excellent interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively communicate the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions to stakeholders, internal teams, and clients.

- Leadership and managerial skills to inspire and lead a team of designers.

- Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

- Strong trend analysis capabilities and the ability to identify market opportunities.

- Passion for innovation, creativity, and pushing boundaries in footwear design.

- Strong understanding of brand positioning and market dynamics in the fashion industry

- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.

The history:

The brand was founded in 2015 in Honolulu, Hawaii by current CEO, Alejandro Porras. He was inspired by seeing locals react to his Avarcas, a popular type of sandal from Menorca, Spain, known for their simplicity and ease of use. He decided to talk business in Hawaii and began expanding not only his product offering but also his business sights.

Back to basics and looking to put a spin on the traditional Espadrille, our creative team works from our headquarters in Barcelona to design finely crafted shoes for rain or shine seasons, all produced by trusted artisans in nearby production facilities.

The brand has already strategically positioned itself in Moda Operandi, La Rinascente, Zalando, Revolve, The Iconic and El Corte Inglés, thus covering some of the largest and most exclusive online points of sale across different continents.

ALOHAS is well known for many of its IG collaborations and registered a 1.1 million turnover in 2018 (without investors). This was driven by its ongoing investments into logistics infrastructure and product diversification together with an ever growing online presence.
