We are hiring for Head of EU Government & Industry Affairs.

Role Purpose

The Head of EU Government & Industry Affairs is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s EU government and industry affairs strategy, building trusted relationships with European institutions, industry stakeholders and key partners, and ensuring the company’s interests and expertise are effectively represented in relevant policy discussions.

The role acts as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, translating EU political developments into business opportunities, risks and strategic recommendations. It leads engagement with EU policymakers, trade associations and industry coalitions to advance constructive policy outcomes aligned with business objectives and societal priorities.

Key Responsibilities

EU Government Affairs & Policy Strategy

  • Policy entrepreneurship: monitor, anticipate and shape EU legislative, regulatory and political developments impacting the company.
  • Develop and implement the EU Government and industry Affairs strategy aligned with business priorities and corporate objectives.
  • Provide strategic intelligence and recommendations to executive leadership and business functions.
  • Lead advocacy strategies on key EU policy files, ensuring evidence-based positioning.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with EU institutions, including the European Commission, European Parliament, Council representatives and relevant agencies.
  • Be able to represent the company at the highest levels of government in other key EU member states, including France and Belgium.
  • Represent the company in high-level policy discussions, industry platforms and stakeholder forums.
  • Develop partnerships with industry associations, NGOs, think tanks and value chain stakeholders.
  • Position the company as a credible and constructive contributor to EU policy debates.

Industry Affairs & Coalition Building

  • Lead industry engagement strategies and identify opportunities for collective action.
  • Manage participation in relevant trade associations and industry initiatives.
  • Build alliances across the value chain to advance shared objectives.
  • Ensure alignment between external industry positions and company strategy.

Internal Leadership & Coordination

  • Act as the central point of contact for EU policy matters;
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including communications, legal, regulatory, commercial and R&D.
  • Develop internal awareness of EU political and regulatory trends.
  • Support leadership engagement with policymakers and external stakeholders.

Reputation & Influence

  • Strengthen the company’s reputation as a responsible industry leader.
  • Promote science-, innovation- and evidence-based policy approaches.
  • Ensure consistency of external messaging and stakeholder engagement.

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in public policy, European Affairs, Political Science, Law, Economics, Business or related field.
  • Significant experience (8+ years) in EU Government Affairs, Public Policy, Industry Affairs or related roles based in Brussels and/or Paris;
  • Strong understanding of EU institutions, legislative processes and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience engaging with policymakers and industry stakeholders at EU level.
  • Experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder advocacy initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate policy developments into business implications.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • French native speaker, with experience working with or in the government of France, and fluency in English (both spoken and written) are both a must; any other language is an asset

The salary range for this position is €90,000.00 to €128,000.00.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
