Computershare are currently looking to recruit a Head of Engineering. You would be accountable for end‑to‑end software development and engineering outcomes across the global Share Plans technology estate.

As our Head of Engineering, you will be charged with cultivating a dynamic and forward-looking environment for our development teams and partners, focusing on identifying and nurturing high-potential talent within our ranks

A role you will love

As Head of Engineering, you will lead the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle across a global portfolio of applications and platforms. You will ensure delivery is predictable, resilient, and fully aligned to regulatory requirements, while driving the long‑term sustainability and evolution of critical systems.

The role combines stewardship of complex, long‑lived platforms with the adoption of modern engineering practices and leadership of globally distributed teams.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Delivery: Own E2E delivery, service outcomes, risks, and dependencies

  • Leadership: Lead global teams; build capability, accountability, succession

  • Quality & Ops: Drive quality, resilience, and reduced manual effort

  • Suppliers: Manage and hold third parties accountable

  • Governance: Ensure compliance, manage risk, remediate issues

  • Financials & Stakeholders: Own budgets; provide clear reporting; partner across functions

What will you bring to the role?

You will be an experienced and inspirational leader of large, globally distributed engineering teams, with a proven track record of building high‑performing organisations and delivering complex technology programmes at scale. You bring the ability to engage, motivate and develop talent at all levels, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement, while consistently achieving strong delivery and business outcomes.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Expert ability to develop profitable strategies and implement vision

  • Experience in using and implementing new processes and methodologies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and stakeholders.

  • Exceptional organisation skills

  • Expert ability to drive customer service

  • Expert ability to build and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders at all levels

  • Proven risk awareness, ensuring compliance to procedures and regulatory requirements, development of processes to minimise risk

  • High levels of initiative with ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities.
