Job Description

Your Impact

As Head of Engineering, you’ll provide strategic and technical leadership across Asahi Beverages’ multi‑site Supply Chain network, shaping how our engineering function supports safety, reliability, sustainability and long‑term growth.

This is a highly influential role, accountable for engineering strategy, asset management and governance across manufacturing, utilities, automation, maintenance, reliability and capital investment. You’ll work closely with Operations, Safety, Quality, Finance and Project Delivery to ensure our assets are safe, compliant, resilient and future‑ready - while leading the development and delivery of our Supply Chain sustainability roadmap.

You’ll also build and lead a high‑performing engineering leadership team, creating strong standards, capability and ways of working across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and lead the Supply Chain engineering and asset management strategy across a complex, multi‑site manufacturing network.
  • Provide senior technical leadership and governance across maintenance, reliability, utilities, automation, process engineering and capital projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian WHS, engineering and food manufacturing regulations, including electrical safety, pressure equipment, machinery safety and process equipment standards.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety and Finance to improve asset reliability, performance, safety and cost efficiency.
  • Lead and develop a geographically dispersed engineering leadership team and community of practice.
  • Establish and maintain clear engineering standards, policies, risk management and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Optimise engineering OPEX and CAPEX investment to maximise asset lifecycle performance and return on investment.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives across energy, water, emissions reduction and decarbonisation, supporting Asahi’s climate and water stewardship commitments.
  • Engage proactively with regulators, contractors and external partners to drive strong compliance and continuous improvement outcomes.

About You

You’re a strategic and pragmatic engineering leader who balances technical depth with strong people leadership and commercial awareness. You enjoy working across complex environments, influencing at senior levels and building capability that delivers long‑term value.

You’ll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, mechatronics or similar).
  • Broad engineering leadership experience within food, FMCG or other high‑risk manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards, asset management, process safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading engineering teams across multiple sites or large, complex operations.
  • The ability to navigate complex technical and operational challenges and deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to influence across functions and levels.
  • A leadership style that prioritises safety, inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Experience leading sustainability or decarbonisation initiatives will be highly regarded, but are not essential.
