The Head of EACG Segment Strategy & Proposition will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing strategic initiatives and product propositions for the Emerging Affluent and Commercial & SME Group (EACG) segments within United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, driving growth and market share.
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive segment strategies for EACG, encompassing market analysis, customer segmentation, competitive landscape assessment, and growth opportunities.
  • Formulate and manage the end-to-end proposition lifecycle for EACG customers, including product and service development, pricing strategies, go-to-market plans, and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and customer insight analyses to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, and potential areas for innovation within the EACG segments.
  • Collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders, including Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Digital, Risk, and Operations, to ensure the successful execution of segment strategies and propositions.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for EACG segments and propositions, providing regular reporting and actionable insights to senior management.
  • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships or alliances that could enhance the bank's offerings to EACG customers.
  • Drive innovation and digital transformation initiatives within the EACG segment, leveraging technology to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all segment strategies and propositions comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting continuous development.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in retail banking, commercial banking, or SME banking, with a strong focus on strategy, product development, or segment management.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful strategies and propositions for affluent, commercial, or SME customer segments.
  • Deep understanding of the Malaysian banking landscape, regulatory environment, and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and business case development.
