Head of Delegated Authority

Role Purpose
The Head of Delegated Authority is responsible for the technical leadership and governance of the DA portfolio. This role will drive performance, ensure robust oversight, and position the business as a market leader in DA through strong internal management and external representation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Leadership
- Define and deliver the Delegated Authority strategy aligned to overall business objectives
- Provide clear leadership and direction to the DA team
- Act as the senior decision-maker for DA-related matters
- Move the function from operational support to a strategic growth driver
- Lead internal DA Committee, meeting regularly to drive consistency of global knowledge and standards
2. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal frameworks
- Maintain best-in-class oversight, audit, and control processes
- Act as the key escalation point for risk and compliance issues
- Drive continuous improvement in DA governance standards
3. Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with:
- Portfolio Team leadership
- Account managers
- Clients’ DA teams, capacity providers and carriers
- Operate with seniority and authority, influencing decisions across the business
- Ensure DA is embedded early in deal structuring and strategy discussions, facilitated by attending and participating in broking team meetings
- Engagement with travel to Acrisure offices (US/EU), in order to facilitate growing number of new business opportunities
4. Market Representation
- Represent the business at market forums and committees (e.g. LIIBA)
- Act as a visible leader in the DA market
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and working groups
- Shape market developments and stay ahead of regulatory/market change
5. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the DA team
- Drive a high-performance, accountable and collaborative culture
- Align team structure to support strategic goals of the business
- Increase visibility and engagement across teams
- Develop and implement school leaver programme and transition strategy
6. Operational Excellence
- Oversee efficient and scalable DA processes
- Work closely with operations and systems teams to improve workflows
- Ensure the function is fit for growth and future expansion
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in Delegated Authority / Coverholder management
- Strong understanding of Lloyd’s / London Market frameworks
- Proven leadership experience at a senior level
- Ability to operate with autonomy and make strategic decisions
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
- Experience representing organisations in market forums or committees

Positioning of the Role
- Senior leadership position with full ownership of DA
- Operates alongside senior broker level in terms of authority and decision-making

- Expected to travel and represent the business in key markets and at events
Delegated Authority Lifecycle
Full oversight and accountability for delivery by the DA team, including but not limited to:
- Lloyd’s Coverholder onboarding and approval process, ensuring effective coordination between client, market, and Lloyd’s
- Oversight of Atlas system compliance checks and renewal readiness
- Governance of DCOM setup, contract documentation, and ongoing record maintenance
- Oversight of bordereaux management, including timeliness, accuracy, and cash flow (premium and claims)
- Review and oversight of profit commission calculations
- Ownership of escalation and resolution of FDO queries, identifying root causes
- Oversight of contract review processes and standards
- Governance of consortium setup, including registration with Velonetic
- Oversight of operational service delivery, identifying and resolving issues
- Ensuring DA processes are embedded from the outset via new business and renewal engagement
