Value Proposition
This role will establish, scale and lead the First Citizens India Data and AI organization, serving as both the functional leader for the India capability and a strategic partner to Enterprise Data & Analytics leadership. As the senior-most Data & AI leader in India, the role will work closely with global leadership team to operationalize the Enterprise Data and AI strategy by building scalable capabilities across data, analytics and artificial intelligence. The leader will partner closely with Technology, Data Engineering and Enterprise Architecture teams to enable modern, cloud-based data platforms and AI solutions that accelerate business outcomes.
The leader will build a world-class Data & AI organization that accelerates innovation, strengthens data-driven decision-making and positions India as a strategic capability hub for Enterprise Data & AI. A core member of the India Leadership Team, this role serves as the key bridge between India and the global Enterprise Data & AI organization, ensuring strong alignment with enterprise priorities while strengthening India’s role as a strategic innovation hub.

About the Team:
The First Citizens India Data & AI organization works on enterprise-wide data, analytics, artificial intelligence, governance & architecture capabilities for the bank. The team partners closely with Enterprise Data & AI leadership, business stakeholders, technology and the Data Engineering organization to deliver scalable, cloud-based data platforms and AI-driven solutions that enable business growth and operational excellence. As the organization continues to expand, the India team will play a critical role in advancing enterprise Data & AI capabilities while developing future-ready leadership and specialized technical talent.

The Head of Data and AI, India is accountable for:
•Building and scaling the India Data & AI organization.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)
1.Enterprise Data & AI Strategy

•Execute the Enterprise Data & AI strategy across the India organizaiton
•Develop long-term capability roadmaps for Data & AI based solutions and platforms.
•Drive enterprise adoption of modern cloud-native data platforms.
•Establish India as a strategic center for innovation and technology excellence.

2.Data and AI Leadership
•Lead enterprise Data, Analytics and AI capabilities across the organization.
•Drive adoption of Artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to solve complex business challenges.
•Build scalable data products, AI solutions and analytical capabilities
•Promote responsible AI practices and innovation.
•Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.

3.Data Governance and Information Management
•Implement enterprise data governance standards, policies and operating models.
•Strengthening data quality, stewardship, metadata management and master data practices.
•Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, privacy and regulatory requirements.
•Partner with Risk, Compliance and Information Security teams to safeguard enterprise data assets.
•Drive enterprise data management maturity and governance excellence.

4.Strategic Partnership and Platform Enablement
•Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where Data & AI can create measurable business value.
•Provide oversight to India capabilities of Data & AI Architecture and collaborate with Technology and Enterprise Architecture teams to enable scalable, secure and cloud-based data platforms.
•Drive prioritization, portfolio governance and execution excellence across strategic initiatives.
•Establish operating metrics, business value tracking and executive dashboards.
•Ensure delivery outcomes align with enterprise objectives

5.Organization Governance & Stakeholder Management
•Serve as the primary India leader for Enterprise Data & AI.
•Build trusted relationships with global executives and business stakeholders.
•Represent India in Enterprise Data & AI leadership forums and governance councils.
•Influence enterprise strategy, investment priorities and transformation initiatives.
•Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and operational excellence.

6.Financial & Operational Management
•Manage budgets, workforce planning and investment priorities.
•Optimize delivery capacity and resource utilization.
•Establish KPIs and operational dashboards.
•Drive cost optimization while improving delivery effectiveness.

7.Talent and Leadership Development
•Build and scale a high-performing Data & AI organization.
•Recruit, develop and retain exceptional leadership and specialized technical talent.
•Create succession plans and leadership development programs.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related discipline.
•Master’s degree preferred (MBA/MS).
•20+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
•Significant experience leading Enterprise Data & AI organizations.
•Proven experience building and scaling enterprise Data & AI capabilities within a global organization or GCC.
•Strong track record leading enterprise data modernization, AI adoption and digital transformation initiatives.
•Financial Services or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.
