At Westpac, data and AI play a critical role in how we transform our businesses and deliver better experiences for our customers. We’re looking for a Head of Data, Analytics & AI to help shape the future of data, analytics, connectivity and AI across BT and Panorama

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the role will lead the implementation of Westpac’s Group data and AI strategy across Panorama and BT’s internal business use cases, within established technology, architecture and governance frameworks. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and prioritise key opportunities for BT to use group data capabilities to create strategic differentiation for the BT group.
  • Translate business objectives into target capabilities, strategic roadmaps, sequencing and investment priorities.
  • Set the strategic direction for data, connectivity and AI uplift across the Panorama ecosystem, including connected partner and platform experiences.
  • Shape the data, analytics, connectivity and AI capabilities required to support CRM transformation and MarTech modernisation.
  • Provide strategic oversight across the data platform, governed data products, priority use cases and connectivity capability.
  • Support in aligning shared capabilities, priorities and dependencies across the business, helping avoid fragmented or duplicated solutions.
  • Drive effective Data and AI governance, ensuring privacy, security, data quality, model risk and responsible AI requirements are embedded into strategy and delivery.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Product, Technology, Architecture, Strategy, Risk and Group functions to guide investment decisions and resolve competing priorities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team while managing relevant partners, budgets and capability priorities.

What’s in it for me?

This is an opportunity to have a significant influence on the future direction of wealth and financial advice in Australia.

You’ll play a central role in transforming Panorama into a platform of the future, shaping how data, analytics, connectivity and AI come together across a major wealth platform. You’ll operate at the intersection of business, product and technology, influencing strategic investment decisions and helping turn complex enterprise priorities into measurable customer and business outcomes.

You’ll also contribute to Westpac’s broader Data, Digital and AI transformation, working alongside senior leaders and specialist teams across the Group to build reusable, governed and future-focused capabilities.

As part of Westpac Group, you’ll have access to flexible working arrangements, development opportunities and a collaborative environment where you can have a genuine impact at scale.

What do I need?

We’re looking for an accomplished data, analytics or AI leader who can connect business strategy, product direction, architecture and execution.

You’ll bring:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience across data, analytics, AI, digital platforms or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience defining enterprise data, analytics and AI strategies and translating these into investment priorities, roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong technical understanding of data platforms, data products, analytics, AI, integration and connectivity.
  • Experience shaping or governing complex transformation across data platforms, CRM, MarTech, digital ecosystems or enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of digital product and platform operating models and the relationship between strategy, architecture, product ownership and delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership across data governance, data risk and responsible AI, with an ability to embed appropriate controls into practical delivery.
  • The ability to influence senior executives and build alignment across Product, Technology, Architecture, Strategy, Risk and enterprise functions.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to assess investment choices and clearly articulate trade-offs across value, customer experience, risk, cost and delivery feasibility.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, building capability and working effectively within complex matrix structures.
  • Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience, with exposure to wealth management or platform ecosystems considered advantageous.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in technology, data science, analytics, mathematics, engineering, economics or business, or equivalent senior professional experience.
