Define and drive the global Customer Project Management strategy, ensuring excellence in project delivery and customer success.

This role will be based in EUROPE.

In this role you will lead and transform the global Customer Project Management organization, ensuring the successful delivery of customer projects from contract handover through final acceptance and closure. You will define and drive the global strategy, governance, operating model, and capability roadmap, fostering excellence in project execution, customer satisfaction, profitability, and business performance worldwide. Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Service, Finance, and regional leadership teams, you will strengthen cross-functional collaboration, standardize project management practices, and deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience across all regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and deploy the global Customer Project Management strategy and operating model aligned with business priorities.
• Lead and develop a high-performing global organization, fostering talent growth, coaching, and succession planning.
• Oversee the worldwide customer project portfolio, ensuring delivery against contractual commitments for scope, schedule, cost, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain global project governance, methodologies, standards, tools, KPIs, and reporting practices.
• Drive portfolio reviews and provide executive-level visibility on project performance, risks, opportunities, claims, and resource requirements.
• Act as executive sponsor for strategic or critical customer projects and lead recovery plans when required.
• Strengthen collaboration across functions and regions to improve end-to-end project execution.
• Ensure rigorous management of project profitability, cash flow, forecasting, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Build strong executive-level customer relationships and support key business objectives.
• Lead continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives to enhance project management capabilities and decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, internal policies, quality standards, and health & safety regulations

Profile

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
• Extensive leadership experience in global customer project management within industrial equipment, engineered-to-order, or capital goods environments.
• Strong track record of leading large international and multicultural teams.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex global project portfolios with accountability for revenue, margins, cash flow, customer satisfaction, and risk.
• Deep expertise in project governance, contract management, financial management, risk management, and project recovery.
• Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to balance strategic and operational priorities.
• Executive presence with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to drive organizational transformation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
• Fluent in English; French and/or German are considered strong assets.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
