Job Description

The Head of Creditors will oversee the creditors function, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant management of all supplier accounts and payments. This role requires strong leadership, strategic oversight, and the ability to drive process improvements while maintaining excellent supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the creditors team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee preparation and review of monthly/weekly reconciliations for all production creditors.
  • Authorize and monitor payments in Navision/Nedbank, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage monthly intercompany reconciliations and payments, including adjustment journals.
  • Provide strategic commentary and insights for monthly creditors ageing analysis to senior management.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships, resolving escalated queries and disputes.
  • Oversee cashbook management for production payments, ensuring proper controls.
  • Drive compliance with SOX requirements and support internal/external audits.
  • Lead the BEE verification process for creditors-related compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Finance Manager and other stakeholders on financial planning and reporting.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years' experience in creditors/accounts payable, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Central (preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience with SOX compliance and audit processes.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive efficiency and process improvements.
