The Telecom, Media and Technology & Healthcare sector team offers an exciting position in Amsterdam for an ambitious professional who enjoys working in an international environment. The TMT & Healthcare sector team is one of the global specialist sector coverage teams at the heart of ING Wholesale Banking. We provide banking services and complex financial solutions to telecommunication, media, entertainment, technology, satellite, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies globally. As a coverage banker based in Amsterdam, you will play a key role in managing our relationships with internationally operating corporate clients in the Netherlands, as well as supporting the wider EMEA region.

You will be responsible for managing client relationships for all clients in your subsector and for supporting the international network with sector expertise. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the Analysts, Associates, Interns and Trainees in the team and will be reporting to the head of TMT&H NL. Given the dual nature of the role, it is important that candidates also have a deep understanding of at least one of the subsectors within TMT&H, in addition to an affinity for managing and coaching colleagues.

Your role is highly diverse, and your main tasks include:

• Building client relationships and maintaining continuous dialogue with industry leaders and sector participants across the Digital Infra sub-sector
• Developing sector knowledge and industry expertise, with a strong curiosity and interest in taking deep dives into the subsectors within TMT&H
• Driving strategic dialogue with clients and discussing beyond-banking initiatives
• Maintaining active contacts with other departments and disciplines within ING, such as Corporate Finance, Transaction Management, Portfolio Management, Corporate Sector Lending, Loan Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Transaction Services and Risk Management
• Expanding our client base and product offering to existing clients
• Working with product teams to structure and execute transactions, balancing stakeholder management, ING’s risk appetite and commercial attractiveness for clients
• Directing balance sheet distribution and syndication activities
• Guiding, training and supervising Interns, Trainees, Analysts and Associates in the team
• Guiding the hiring process for the abovementioned levels
• Being a sounding board for your team and making sure that your team is optimally developed

Who are we looking for

• An experienced banking professional
• An ambitious individual with a Master’s degree and excellent academic results
• A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience
• Strong and proven knowledge of structuring and origination of TMT&H transactions
• An affinity for management and coaching
• Someone who is relationship-driven, people -oriented and able to make connections with ease
• A strong connector, communicator and highly effective team player
• A proactive professional with strong personal drive and a high level of self-motivation
• Someone with knowledge and understanding of ING’s Wholesale Banking product suite, competitive positioning and risk appetite
• Experience in the TMT&H sector is crucial, as the role is not a full-time management position
• Strong project and time management skills, able to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
• International experience and cultural sensitivity
