As a Head of Corporate Security NA, you will lead the regional execution of corporate security strategy and programs across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and C&C. In this role, you will protect employees, contractors, visitors, physical assets, intellectual property, operations, and reputation from criminal and malicious threats while translating global strategy into risk-based regional priorities. You will lead regional security programs and teams and partner with business, site, functional, and external stakeholders to identify emerging risks, coordinate mitigation, and strengthen security capabilities across North America.

As a Head of Corporate Security NA, you create chemistry by...

• Translating global Corporate Security strategy and policy into risk-based regional priorities, standards, and operating plans in collaboration with business units, sites, and the global Corporate Security organization, while monitoring regulatory and policy compliance, escalating material gaps, and driving corrective actions that protect the company’s license to operate.
• Leading, coaching, and developing the North America Corporate Security team and site security representative network, using industry standards, external benchmarking, peer-company and professional networks, and emerging practices to establish capability priorities, objectives, succession and development plans, operating rhythms, and performance expectations.
• Advising business, functional, country, and site leaders on security risks and required controls, while delivering targeted communications, training, and guidance that strengthen compliance, clarify responsibilities, and support safe, reliable operations and secure supply chains.
• Directing regional threat and risk assessments, investigations, workplace violence prevention, and incident coordination in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Cybersecurity, and site leadership, while prioritizing mitigation based on risk and ensuring timely closure of material actions.
• Overseeing regional programs for guard services, electronic security systems, executive protection, travel security, and supply-chain security, while managing budgets and vendor performance, representing North America in global Corporate Security initiatives, and ensuring regional requirements are reflected in global solutions without duplicating globally owned work.

If you...

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline, along with a professional security certification such as CPP, PSP, or equivalent and relevant law enforcement, military, intelligence, or corporate security training.
• Bring approximately 12–15 years of progressively responsible corporate security, asset protection, law enforcement, military, intelligence, or related risk-management experience, including experience in a large, complex organization, as well as at least 5 years of people-leadership experience supporting multiple sites, businesses, or countries.
• Demonstrate experience leading physical security, investigations, threat assessment, workplace violence prevention, security technology, supply-chain security, and regulatory compliance programs, as well as managing major security vendors, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
• Have working knowledge of applicable chemical, maritime, supply-chain, and controlled-substance security requirements, including CFATS, MTSA, CTPAT, DEA, and FDA requirements, as relevant.
• Possess advanced investigation, interviewing, threat-assessment, incident-management, and risk-analysis skills, along with strong business acumen and the ability to translate security risk into practical recommendations for senior leaders, business units, and sites.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, judgment, discretion, and executive-level presentation skills, with the ability to influence across functions and geographies without direct authority and build trusted relationships with government, law-enforcement, industry, and peer-company partners.

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive pay range for this role is $169,200 - $206,800. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
