The Role

The Head of Core Asia Equities is responsible for oversight and investment decision-making for Core Asia Equity portfolios across institutional mandates, solutions and wealth vehicles, ensuring alignment to objectives, benchmarks, risk budgets, and all mandate/prospectus constraints. Leads portfolio construction, security selection, and implementation in close partnership with equity research, trading and control functions, maintaining robust governance, risk management, and best execution discipline. Owns performance outcomes and the client narrative, translating research, and market developments into clear positioning, stakeholder communication, and ongoing product governance.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee the investment management of Core Asian investment strategies with accountability for decision making and performance
• Set direction for the Core Asia investment management function to deliver consistent high-quality outcomes including 4/5-star Morningstar ratings
• Embed strong investment process execution governance and compliance with regulatory and internal standards
• Manage and develop portfolio managers across the Core Asia team
• Mentor equity research analysts and strengthen working relationships across the equity research platform
• Partner with equity portfolio managers and key stakeholders to align investment management priorities with business objectives
• Contribute to Asia growth ambitions in close partnership with Global Equities team
• Strengthen alignment of priorities investment strategies and resources across the wider equity platform

What we're looking for

• Bring substantial institutional investment management experience with a successful performance track record
• Demonstrate deep understanding of equity markets capital markets and institutional research processes
• Establish credibility with clients and stakeholders through clear communication and effective stakeholder management
• Build capability through people management across portfolio managers and development of equity research analysts
• Apply disciplined governance and compliance in line with regulatory and internal standards
• Show evidence of effective collaboration across an equity research and portfolio management platform
• Bring international work experience, preferably across Eastern and Western markets
• Hold CFA or equivalent certification or bring equivalent demonstrable experience
