Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on leader, problem solver, and out-of-the-box thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and naturally balances user safety, user experience, business objectives, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is highly execution-oriented, comfortable making data-driven decisions under pressure, and passionate about building world-class Trust & Safety operations, moderation technologies, and scalable compliance solutions. They should be equally comfortable discussing strategy with executives, solving operational challenges with teams, and partnering with engineers to build innovative moderation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve content moderation policies to ensure a safe and trusted user environment.
  • Act as the champion of compliance across all moderation domains, working closely with Legal, Product, Trust & Safety, and external stakeholders to ensure policies remain effective, scalable, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of moderators and moderation managers responsible for monitoring and enforcing policies across user-generated content, including livestreams, video, images, text, and audio. Lead the transformation from “taking moderation actions” to “control & improve AI tools”
  • Investigate and respond to escalations, user complaints, platform partner inquiries, and requests from external authorities when required.
  • Build and execute a strategic roadmap to position Tango's moderation and trust & safety capabilities as best-in-class within the livestreaming and UGC industry.
  • Own relationships with 3rd-party vendors and moderation technology providers ( TheHive.ai, Google Gemini and others), ensuring optimal performance and continuous innovation.
  • Define, monitor, and improve the core moderation technologies and key performance indicators, including:
  1. Reaction time and response efficiency
  2. Accuracy, precision, and recall of AI moderation systems
  3. Accuracy and recall of visual, audio, and text recognition models
  4. Percentage of inappropriate content exposed to users (false negatives)
  5. Percentage of legitimate content incorrectly restricted (false positives)
  6. Percentage of decisions made by automated systems versus human moderation
  7. Overall moderation quality, consistency, and operational accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvements in moderation workflows, internal tools, automation, and operational processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and decision quality.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, AI/ML, and Operations teams to design, build, and deploy next-generation moderation tools, capabilities, and enforcement mechanisms.
  • Lead initiatives involving AI-driven moderation, risk detection, compliance controls, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role within Content Moderation, Trust & Safety, visual recognition, voice moderation, text moderation, or Technical Operations with responsibility for building technical and business solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in fast-paced B2C technology companies, startups, or engineering-driven organizations.
  • Strong understanding of UGC platforms, livestreaming ecosystems, platform integrity, and content safety challenges.
  • Experience evaluating legal and operational risks related to government regulations, platform policies, and compliance requirements, including Apple App Store, Google Play and payment providers policies.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience handling high-risk, illegal, harmful, and regulated content categories.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects involving Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and external vendors.
  • Strong leadership, people management, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, decision-making, prioritization, and execution capabilities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Russian is a strong advantage).
  • Technical background or experience in Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related fields is a strong plus.
  • AI-first mindset with a strong interest in leveraging automation, machine learning, and emerging technologies to improve safety, efficiency, and user experience is a strong plus.
