Job Description

Imagine a future where you lead a critical procurement team that keeps wind turbines running and supports the energy transition

Join us in this role where you’ll lead a team responsible for day‑to‑day tactical procurement, from placing purchase orders to following up with suppliers on deliveries, quality, and escalations. You’ll combine people leadership with hands‑on understanding of the procurement process to support high‑priority needs from our sites and help drive improvements as our ways of working evolve.

Welcome to Component Supply Management
You’ll be part of the component supply management team where you, together with your colleagues, will lead and develop a team responsible for tactical procurement supporting our wind farm sites. You’ll set direction, create clarity in priorities, and empower the team to deliver reliably across multiple site areas, including West Coast, East Coast, and Danish and German wind farms.

As a team, we succeed as one by caring for each other, passing on power through trust and accountability, and keeping a strong focus on results and safety.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading, developing, and supporting a team of tactical procurement professionals
  • setting direction, goals, and KPIs, and following up on team performance and deliveries
  • ensuring effective operational procurement processes, including purchase orders, supplier follow-up, and delivery performance
  • managing escalations related to delays, quality issues, and supply risks in close collaboration with site stakeholders
  • building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including sites and operations
  • contributing operational insight to process improvements and development initiatives, including SAP-related changes.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have solid people leadership experience, ideally from an tactical or procurement environment
  • bring hands-on experience within procurement, particularly tactical procurement
  • have strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to handle escalations and time-critical situations
  • are experienced in working with SAP and understand procurement processes in SAP environments
  • build strong relationships with operational stakeholders and can act fast when escalations arise
  • stay calm under pressure, using a problem‑solving approach when delays or conflicts need resolution.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

About Ørsted

Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.

We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage.
