Job Description

Overall Purpose

  • Responsibility for the Natixis Swedish Branch's performance of its obligations under the Swedish FSA
  • Responsibility for the Branch's general compliance (including, for the avoidance of doubt, Financial Crime legal and regulatory matters) with the Swedish regulatory and financial crime legislative regime applicable to the Branch.
  • Responsibility for the escalation of correspondence from the Swedish FSA and other Swedish regulators in respect of the Branch to the Swedish Branch and UK Senior Management, or, where appropriate, the Head office of Natixis, or BPCE. Designated contact in Sweden for the Swedish FSA and other relevant regulators on behalf of the Swedish Branch.
  • Responsibility for the Natixis Swedish Branch's performance of its obligations in relation to the Natixis risk supervision framework. In this role the role holder has overall responsibility (shared with HO) for credit, market, operational and enterprise risk of the Natixis Swedish Branch
  • Responsibility for the escalation of risk matters in respect of the Branch to the Swedish Branch and UK Senior Management, or, where appropriate, the Head office of Natixis, or BPCE.
  • Leading the Swedish Information Security, Business Continuity Management and Physical Security matters for the CIB business.
  • The overall responsibilities of the role are to set strategies to manage compliance, financial crime and risk within the Natixis Swedish Branch and to maintain a strong compliance, financial crime and risk culture throughout the CIB operations of Natixis in Sweden.
  • The Head of Compliance must play a full part, as a member of senior management and the executive governance of he Branch in providing leadership to the business, building and implementing the strategy and operational plan to meet corporate goals and safeguarding customers'

Main Responsibilities

  • Setting strategy for managing the relationship with the Swedish FSA and other local regulators. Together with the Senior Country Manager, be responsible for managing those relationships
  • Supervising the fight against financial crime and overseeing the AML/Sanctions program in the Sweden
  • Monitoring the implementation of recommendations and requirements of regulators / market authorities and internal audit in order to prevent sanctions and the risk of reputation/ image/ or financial loss
  • Set, establish and provide adherence to processes, policies and procedures to meet compliance, legal and regulatory requirements. These should be supported by the appropriate monitoring and reporting procedures
  • Be aware and demonstrate through actions, adherence to all compliance obligations set both externally (through legislation, regulation or industry guidelines) and with related internal policy and procedures (which detail those requirements specific to Natixis)
  • Implement and develop permanent control plan that satisfies French APCR requirements
  • Manage the Swedish-based Security oversight, responsible for establishing, implementing and reviewing the BCP and local security (IT and physical) policies, ensuring appropriate liaison with IT and Compliance departments, as relevant
  • Assist in the development of the business continuity plan for the Swedish Branch, including appropriate liaison with IT on the DR aspects
  • Plan and manage the Swedish Branch Compliance and Risk Department budget and set the Department's strategy
  • Regular reporting to senior management and Head Office compliance, including the production of metrics, KPls, KRI and other indicators
  • Oversight and supervision of the credit risk for the Natixis Swedish Branch: - this implies having oversight through regular meetings and contact with the Europe Head of Risk and;
  • Insures that a reporting tool allows the Europe CRO to carry out such task.
    • Opines on the Swedish Branch files submitted to NCC when the role holder feels the need and independently from the credit risk department view
    • Monitors Europe Watch List, Provisioning and participates to their review in the CIB Watch List and provisioning Committee
    • Attends all local and Head Office risk committees as stipulated below in more detail
  • Oversight and supervision of the Swedish Branch Operational risk perimeter
  • Contribution to the management and governance of the Europe Risk Division through participation in departmental committees meetings
  • Periodic review of the Swedish Branch risk governance
  • discussion with Country Risk Management in Head Office and participation to the CRG validation of the limits)
  • Ensure adherence to the Risk Appetite Framework
  • Supervision and oversight of adherence to Natixis Risk policies and procedures and their application
  • Application of the International Risk Charters/ SLAs which govern the relationship between the International platforms and Head Office
