Your Role

The Compliance team monitors and supervises Compliance topics for both Private Wealth and Employee Benefits businesses, in order to make sure that Swiss Life develops its business in line with the local and international regulations as well as the Group principles.
The Head of Compliance will report directly to Ewa Dziuban, Chief Compliance Officer, and will ensure proper management of the Compliance team and risk-oriented execution of the framework covering all compliance matters across the Luxembourg and Liechtenstein insurance carriers.
In this senior leadership position, you will act as a trusted partner to the business, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met while supporting sustainable and compliant business growth. You will bring a solution-oriented and pragmatic approach, balancing effective risk management with the needs of a dynamic and evolving business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Compliance team, ensuring effective prioritization, performance, and development
  • Ensure consistency and a risk-based approach on the execution to the Compliance function on all compliance matters across the insurance carriers in Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, with prioritization and effectiveness aligned along the reporting line
  • Act as a strategic business partner, providing proactive and pragmatic compliance advice to support commercial initiatives
  • Ensure risk-adequate contribution to the clients’ acceptance and due diligence process
  • Manage and update the compliance monitoring plan and produce respective reports
  • Ensure timely and material compliance input to key regulatory reporting and internal reporting bodies
  • Coordinate audits activities where compliance involvement is required
  • Review and update compliance guidelines and processes
  • Ensure timely performance of ongoing Compliance monitoring, reviews and assessment
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation measures
  • Support the implementation of regulatory developments
  • Support the enhancement of the Compliance communication and culture

Your Profile

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the area of Compliance and AML/KYC in the Life Insurance industry in Luxembourg
  • Successful team management experience
  • Fluency in French and business fluency in English. German or Italian is an asset.
  • Profound knowledge of due diligence principles, available tools and source of information in the Finance Industry
  • In-depth knowledge of French UHNW/HNW clients, including wealth structuring (holding, family structures, insurance-based solutions) and associated tax and regulatory considerations
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, combining regulatory expertise with a business-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Diligent, resilient and committed personality who likes to take ownership and has strong attention to details
