We’re looking for a dynamic Head of Communications to lead and elevate the voice of our practice - shaping how we share our ideas, our work and our impact across the built environment. This is a senior leadership role at the heart of the practice, with direct influence on strategy and visibility. You’ll work closely with the Executive Board and Directors to define how we tell our story and how the world experiences our brand.
As Head of Communications, you’ll lead a talented in‑house team spanning PR, marketing, internal communications and graphics. Together, you’ll champion inventive storytelling, strengthen our media presence, support business development, and ensure the practice maintains a confident and consistent profile across digital platforms, publications and industry networks.

About the Role

• Lead and develop the communications team across PR, marketing, internal communications and graphics.
• Shape the practice’s communications strategy, brand identity and external profile.
• Build relationships with journalists, cultural institutions and industry bodies to raise the visibility of the practice.
• Oversee press relations, publications, events, awards submissions and thought-leadership opportunities.
• Guide the development of project narratives, case studies, and digital content.
• Build trusted relationships with each director to elevate their external profile, and expand their professional network within the architecture sector.
• Build supportive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues across the business that advance this shared vision.
• Manage the website and digital channels to ensure a consistent and engaging presence.

About You

You are an experienced communications leader who combines strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.

Confident at senior level but collaborative and supportive in your approach, you bring:

• Significant experience in PR, communications or marketing leadership.
• A proven track record in developing strategy and securing strong media coverage.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills.
• Strong organisational and project‑management ability.
• A thoughtful, balanced approach to representing a range of voices and perspectives.
• A people‑centred leadership style that brings out the best in others.
• Experience in architecture, design or the built environment (desirable but not essential).
