We're one of Europe's fastest-growing podcast and audiobook platforms, and we're now looking for an exceptional, commercially driven leader to step into the role of Head of Commercial for our Spanish market.

This is the role

As the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for driving the commercial success and audience development of Podimo’s content portfolio within the Spanish market. Sitting at the precise intersection of marketing, content, and business performance, you will ensure that the right content reaches the right audience at the right time.

You will lead a team of 8 FTE’s of wonderful activation and social media magicians based out of our Madrid office, and report directly to our Chief Commercial Officer. Your ultimate goal is to design and execute go-to-market initiatives that drive maximum impact across subscriber intake, engagement, and retention. Working closely with the local Market Director, Content, as well as global Brand and Growth teams, you will drive the growth engine of the market across paid, owned and earned channels, with an emphasis (though not exclusively) on creator-driven growth and social media. You will also take the lead on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities - such as distribution deals, content partnerships, and media collaborations - that accelerate Podimo’s local relevance, reach, and subscriber growth.

Your main responsibilities in the role

Content Activation & Market Growth
  • Local Strategy: Drive local go-to-market execution for new content launches and key show moments.

  • Integrated Campaigns: Lead the local commercial team and collaborate with global CRM, SoMe, PR, and Brand teams to boost intake and engagement.

  • Paid Media Alignment: Partner with global Paid/Demand Gen teams to align local campaigns and provide market insights to optimise global spend.

  • Commercial Performance: Work with the Content Market Director to maximise the total value of the content slate.

  • Commercial Partnerships: Drive growth beyond the content by finding brand and distribution partnerships

Commercial Impact & Forecasting
  • Growth Forecasting: Build precise intake forecasts and growth scenarios based on audience data and product-market fit.

  • Value Optimisation: Position high-potential content to maximise paybase growth, subscriber retention, and revenue.

  • KPI & Data Tracking: Align local campaigns against KPIs, iterating strategies based on performance metrics and channel effectiveness.

Audience Growth & SoMe Integration
  • Social Insights: Leverage social media performance metrics and platform KPIs to directly inform content development and promotion.

  • Localisation: Collaborate with global Social Growth to localise strategies, maximise reach, and mirror cultural nuances while maintaining global brand alignment.

  • Creator Collaboration: Work directly with creators to drive audience growth through their personal channels.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing local marketing and activation team.

  • Strategic Bridge: Act as the alignment point between local market execution and global business objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster deep teamwork across local Content, Creator Relations, Product, and Global Growth units.

  • Brand Champion: Build robust relationships with creators, partners, agencies, and media to expand Podimo's brand presence across Spain.

Skills and experience
  • Extensive commercial experience within the media, entertainment, or digital subscription industries

  • Proven ability to connect creative content campaigns directly to business growth and intake performance.

  • Strong mastery of performance marketing fundamentals combined with a solid grasp of social media algorithms and audience development.

  • Highly data-oriented and analytical, balanced with a strong, proactive bias for execution.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and inspiring high-performing marketing teams.

  • Fully fluent in both English and Spanish (the local market language), possessing exceptional stakeholder alignment skills.

Big bonus points
  • A proven track record of identifying and securing commercial opportunities, such as strategic distribution deals, corporate partnerships, or creative media collaborations.

  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced scale-up or international company, managing the intersection between localized execution and global corporate strategy.
