Job Opportunity: Head of Commercial - Infrastructure and M&E Sector

Join a dynamic and prestigious brand in the M&E and infrastructure industry as our Head of Commercial. We are seeking an ambitious and innovative individual to lead all commercial aspects within our organisation's transport sector, covering Rail, HS2, Highways, and Aviation. This role involves managing potential, existing, and new contracts across a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead commercial strategy development and implementation for pre and post-tender phases.

Manage the transition from project tendering to live projects, including re-bench marking commercial positions on project awards.

Interpret contract documents, determine scope of work, and fulfil contractual obligations.

Advise on various standard forms of contracts used in construction projects.

Identify and manage commercial risks on contracts, ensuring compliance and performance.

Quantify and cost construction works, ensuring financial and commercial control.

Collaborate with Sector Managers/Directors to exceed commercial targets.

Liaise with Procurement for supply chain engagement and subcontract administration.

Work with Finance to ensure a universally agreed position on cost, value, forecast, and accruals.

Utilise Earned Value to analyse project commercial performance.

Provide timely information on the anticipated Final Account value.

Demonstrate knowledge of construction law, standard forms of contract, engineering, and client standards.

Utilise MS Office packages, including Excel, Project, and Word, proficiently.

Key Skills:

Previous experience in large infrastructure projects or M&E sector.

Senior Commercial Manager or Head of position experience.

Proven client/subcontractor management skills.

Commercial strategy setting and business development.

People management and team-building experience.

Experience in a Tier 1 contractor.

Familiarity with NEC contracts (all options).

Ability to challenge and drive innovation within the organisation.

This role requires 2 days per week in our central London office.
