Job Description

Reporting to Head of Controlling & Accounting Cluster Eisenhüttenstadt, we are looking for the Head of Cluster Legal Statutory & Taxes

Your Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting Excellence: End-to-end responsibility for the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP (HGB)
  • Audit Management: Leading and coordinating all internal and external audits, ensuring seamless cooperation with auditors and timely implementation of recommendations.
  • Strategic Leadership: Professional and disciplinary leadership of local and offshore Cluster Legal Statutory (CLS) teams, fostering a high-performance culture and international collaboration.
  • Business Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to local management, highlighting balance sheet risks and opportunities to support the achievement of financial targets.
  • Service Level Governance: Managing and ensuring the quality of services received via Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Systems & Process Innovation: Driving the digital transformation of financial reporting and accounting systems (GL, Fixed Assets, AR/AP); focusing on AI-driven automation and real-time visibility.
  • Technical Expert & Liaison: Serving as the key local contact for the Group’s IFRS network, service providers, and joint ventures, ensuring alignment with Corporate IFRS teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance & ESG: Ensuring adherence to evolving statutory requirements, including e.g. the preparation for IFRS 18 and integrated ESG/non-financial reporting standards.
  • Project Leadership: Taking the lead or participating in strategic cross-functional projects, such as system migrations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) or organizational restructurings.

Your Profile

Professional & Personal Requirements

  • Academic Background: University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting; a professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, or German "Wirtschaftsprüfer") is highly preferred.
  • IFRS & HGB Expertise: Extensive, long-standing experience in financial reporting according to IFRS and local GAAP (HGB) Proven track record in managing complex closing processes in an international environment.
  • IFRS 18 Readiness: Deep understanding of the new IFRS 18 requirements, with the ability to lead the retrospective transition and restructuring of the P&L and Cash Flow statements.
  • Leadership Experience: Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 5-8 years in a managerial role. Experience in leading remote and offshore teams and managing shared service center (SSC) environments is essential.
  • Audit Management: Proven experience in managing relationships with Big 4 audit firms and internal audit departments, ensuring high-quality documentation and compliance.
  • Systems & Digital Literacy: Advanced proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and modern Consolidation Tools (e.g., SEM-BCS, Tagetik, or OneStream). High affinity for Process Automation (RPA) and AI-driven financial analysis
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to act as a business partner for local management, providing clear insights into balance sheet risks and opportunities.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional transformation projects (e.g., system migrations, ESG reporting integration, or legal entity restructurings).
  • Languages: Fluency in English and German (written and spoken) is mandatory for this cluster-lead position.
